The WA community is my Cowboy

We had another beautiful foal last night and this one was hard work. The Cowboy (my husband) struggled with that mare to help her get that foal out, it was scary. When she was finally here we watched diligently, every minute, as she struggled for her first breath, all the while, holding ours. It was a nerve wracking time in the barn. I watched her struggle, nervous and wobbly, try to take her first steps. Then... success!! She's up but still shaky and learning to walk and adapt to this new world. My Cowboy was there every second to help her, encourage her, coax her to her first step, then her second, then finally walking around without hesitation... Soon running around like crazy and jumping, playing and after a while and some training and lots more encouragement... she'll be winning in the show ring.

As I watched that unfold it got me thinking about WA and the community here. You see, the horses we manage here are worth millions and those babies are already worth 100's of thousands of dollars the minute they hit the ground. They are all bound for greatness. Like us though, each one started out the same way... nervous, shaky, wobbly and needing that Cowboy to help them with their first steps. That is what WA has done for me. Each of our foals will start life not knowing or realizing the success they are destined for but ultimately will attain. With our help though, they will get there... With WA's help, I will be too.

I started out a foal here in this journey to my greatness and every step of the way there has been a WA "Cowboy" to help me succeed. Whatever I needed or any question I asked or issue I had, there is always, no matter the time day or night, someone willing to help me with my next steps.

Some day I hope to be in the "show Ring" of success but I also will know that I never could have gotten there without the encouragement, training and nurturing that the people in this amazing WA community provide. Thank you all so much for being MY "Cowboy".

What a beautiful post! I have had the blessing of being present to help with foaling and it is a special and as you have said sometimes challenging experience. I am so glad all ended well for you!
I really enjoyed the analogy!
God's Blessings, Christa :)

Great story. Glad the foal made it into this world. I am sure you will make it too.

We are bound for greatness....What a beautiful thought! Thanks for sharing such an interesting story. Blessings!

Never helped pull a foal, but pulled my share of calves. Hard work and pretty scary. You don't want to loose momma or the little one. Sounds like everything "came out" ok. So will your internet marketing. Hang in there lady.

Great news another foal.Is it a colt or a filly.

Ha! It was a filly... so as of now, the girls are winning 3-2 :) We have a real champion in the barn right now, it's all hands on deck for this one. We are all hoping it's a filly too so we shall see, it could literally be any minute. I'm blogging from the barn! :)

Oh My.Well I hope she is born healthy. There must be some atmosphere in your barn at the moment.

I hope I will be in the "show ring" with you this year, FoalingWife. Very nice.

So we have to learn to ride this mare:)

Hey, every cowgirl knows, it's not how many times you get bucked off... it's how many times you dust yourself off and get back on that matters :)

Great post and nice comparison
Willie

As already stated, great analogy only a cowgirl could come up with. :-)

Great analogy!
Wishing you continued success here at WA!
