I'm a Mom... What's your superpower?

I have been blessed with the most amazing, intelligent and precocious 14 yr old daughter. We had a wonderful and very busy holiday while she was out of school. We have a wonderful relationship which I think is rare these days for girls her age, mom's talk and mostly rant about their kids and I feel fortunate for mine.

This morning while making her lunch and warming her clothes in the dryer, watching her sneak my makeup out of my bathroom, she knows I hate that, she stopped and said to me "Mom... you now what your superpower is?" Well, a lot of things went through my mind and I really couldn't come up with one thing I thought was a "superpower" I might posses. My answer mid sandwich making was "No honey, I have no idea, what is my superpower?"

This is the part that blew me away... she replied "You're a Mom! The best Mom! I watch and see everything you do for me and Dad and you make me want to be better, to do my best. When I grow up, I want to be like you..." If I don't accomplish anything else in life, I will consider myself a success for having the awesome privilege of sharing my life with this amazing creature I call my daughter.

P.S. That is me in the middle of the picture... she somehow convinced me to do another mud run. A 5K, no training ahead of time... 3.1 miles and 25 obstacles. I ended up muddy, bruised, bleeding and sore but WOW it was fun! SHE inspires me to always give my best. So... what is your superpower?? Be inspiring today!!

I never thought of myself as having a superpower. So that gives me something to think about!

LOL!! I never knew I had one either until the other day. She is what gives me that strength! I am so blessed!

My first thought, iewck I will never do that! I asked my husband about my superpower, the first 3 things he mentioned I can't tell here:))) but a good runner up was, you never go down in despair, you are a person who always takes action.

What a lovely thing for your daughter to day to you. My 4 kids say my superpower is my patience! :)

What a blessing to have such a marvelous daughter and such a marvelous relationship with your daughter! I used to say I am just a survivor, now I would say that is my strength, but that is only because my strength is in God.

Relish every moment. Good for you.

You are lucky to have a fun family and friends. Don't ever put them second best. Keep having fun and keep that great smile

That looks like fun!!
