My niche.

So I've been Googling away like a baby after a booby and I found quite quickly that there is no one website on the net that brings my niche together into a single source directory for people to go to. DOUBLE BANG! Can this mean that once I create my website people will flock to me for the information, rather than ten or so different sites?!

Yes and no. Once you become an authority site, have lots of content, and target some low competition keywords you will be set up for success after Google begins to rank your site (which takes awhile).
When you say directory, though, I wonder if you are talking about compiling a list of other websites for people to go to. While it is good to have a list of external resources for visitors, it's best to try and get them to stay on your site and buy from you.
So set up your website and start writing some killer content for now, and worry about the rest later (the training will cover it).
