A Journey of a Thousand Miles Starts With a Single Step

That famous Chinese proverb has been playing over and over in my mind recently. You see, this year I have had a bit of an epiphany. After years of grinding away "working for the man", missing quality time with my young family and letting my health slip, I realised the only person who could help me was....ME.

I could no longer go on blaming my boss(es) for making me work all the hours under the sun. I could no longer keep promising the kids we will do something next weekend and next weekend never came. I also did not want to end up like some of my friends and colleagues who obsessed over their jobs, made money at all costs...and are probably just one day away from a major medical emergency like a heart attack or stroke. So I've decided this year no more.

My plan is simple:

1. WORK LESS - no more overtime, it's not worth it. Work to rule 8am - 5pm and take a lunch break, no excuses. Check.

2. EAT BETTER - eat to live, not live to eat is my new motto. I have tweaked my diet (low carbs, drink more water) and an exercising more. Sleeping better, more energy and much lighter. Check.

3. REPLACE INCOME - work was literally killing me. Despite working less, I'm still working on someone else's vision and purpose. That needs to change. I want to work on things I'm passionate for me and my family, and earn an income at the same time.

I've been looking at my options for a while now as to how I could make this happen. Do I go out on my own and set up a business? Where to start and what to do? As a business professional, people assumed I had all the answers, but sometimes it's easier to tell other people what to do than take your own advice.

So we are now two-thirds of the way through 2019 and quite by accident I come across affiliate marketing. I started doing some research and came across WA. Intrigued, I started clicking and made my way to the WA website. I clicked some more and became Starter member. The more I read, the more I clicked and now I'm a Premium member, And now I want to click some more and absorb as much of the rich training sessions, forums, blogs and discussions as I can. I think I have found my NICHE community.

Twelve months from now I want to look back on this blog and say this is where it all started....with a single click.
