Limited Power
I had no fans, not much cooking services & no lights. I went around to my daughter's house & she rang the property managers. She was able to get the telephone number of the electrician they use.
By 10 am the next day I still had not had a response, I rang the electrician and he was not answering his 'phone. Finally I got to speak to his wife who told me the information I urgently needed.
Turn off all appliances, turn the switch 'on' the mother board in the electicity box. Now turn on one by one each appliance, fridge, washing machine, etc. I did that and found that the one appliance that tripped the power switch was my water distiller. Oh my....looks like I will have to buy a new distiller. How happy are we, having fans going, fridge hopefully preserving ham, bacon & cheese.
I took my newly purchased meat around to my daughters place last night, so there will not be a loss there.
So WA friends, this is a lesson well learned. Hopefully this may help some of you in the same position.
Cheers Jae

Yes Goran, I have learned a whole lot from this experience & will not panic in future.
Thanks for replying.

So sorry to hear it, Jae!
We get outages all the time here in rural Arizona, but we always know they'll be back, never longer than about 30 minutes. I can't imagine how panicked I'd be without my electronics for a whole day!
Glad it turned out to be a relatively simple fix — you never want an unexpected expense, but it could have been so much worse!
Power on! (yes, pun on purpose!)
Tim
Thanks Tim,
It is interesting to hear of others in the world who have power outages, a real disturber of our life.
Thanks for your reply.
Jae
Thanks Jae, nice post!
I’ve got no power today, a day of rest. Lol
I am grateful that I have electricity here though, although we often have power outs! Very frustrating!
Wayne
Hi Wayne,
So you too have "your moments heh?" With so much time wasted we then tackle things wildly in an effort to catch up.
Trust you have "caught up" catch you around!
Cheers Jae

Hello Jae
Where I come from we have power outs at random with no warnings, so we learn to adapt by making provisions for such eventualities,
Such as back up generators to run the important appliances, not buying too many perishable items at once etc.
I also learnt a valuable lesson in backing up my online work when using my desktop.
The world challenges us sometimes, how we deal with it is what defines us,
Thanks for sharing your experience with us Jae, I hope all is well once more.
All the best.
Gary
Thanks Gary,
All's good now, found the appliance that was flicking the switch in the power board, I will know what to do if this occurs again. We have a good power source in Australia as a rule.
Cheers Jae ☼
Happy it all worked out for the better Jae, see you around the WA Community, All the best
Gary
Ta Gary, best to you too ☼
