Have You Ever Heard of SCAD?
I nearly lost my darling daughter.
She was rushed to hospital suffering from a heart attack, she is only 47 runs every day & eats carefully. She was diagnosed with SCAD spontaneous coronary artery dissection. This is where veins leading to the heart or away from the heart break.
In Kim's case she had two veins broken. Fortunately they do mend if care is taken not to overdo things, no stress, no lifting of heavy equipment.
She had tests to find no damage was done to the heart, so it was just a case of taking it easy until she mended. But what happens to these people that suffer from SCADS is that they keep having the same pain, thinking they are having another heart attack they are in and out of hospital.
Doctors have no idea what is causing young people to have this condition, as they appear to be fit people. It is thought by some, that it is brought on by hormonal changes in the body & of course stress.
As Kim is now a single mum she has had her fair share of stress & worry. As her mother, I have of course tried to help her and the 2 grand children.
Fortunately she is making good recovery. She has been given some medication that helps her to sleep at night and relax. Although her chest feels squeezed at times and she gets short of breath, the symptoms are gradually fading.
I do wonder though, these people are high achievers & have pushed their bodies hard. Maybe damage is done to the heart & veins through excess straining. Kim was an Iron Woman before marriage, a very strenuous sport.
What are your thoughts on this?
Jae

I am so glad she is ok! Please, please look into magnesium for the heart. Stress (physical, emotional, from sickness etc) causes the body to use up magnesium and become deficient. This is not something that shows up in a blood test since the body will leach it out the bones in order to keep the heart pumping. Without magnesium we die. It controls heart rhythm, keeps the arteries elastic, keeps blood pressure in check and has over 300 functions in the body.
Low magnesium can cause high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, heart arrhythmia and so much more. I know this because my Dad had arrhythmia and was on nitroglycerine until I got him on magnesium. With the magnesium he could stop the nitro. The heart specialists admitted it helped but of course didn't offer the information.
If you want more information about this let me know. Magnesium taurate is especially good for the heart but any form of magnesium helps. Dad was on regular magnesium.
I hope she continues to improve!

That's interesting. Thanks for that. Kim is aware of magnesium we both take it, or bath in it. Everyone should be taking magnesium,
it what makes the cells work properly.
Magnesium taurate heh? better check that one out. Thanks so much for this info.
Jae ♥
Thanks for your input Jessica, that is really good information.
I have taken note of the Magnesium taurate and will advise my daughter Kim.
We have been health nuts for years, but you can always learn something new.
Cheers Jae ♥♥♥
Hi Jae,
If you exercise a lot you need way more nutrients of course. I don't know the specifics about your daughter's condition, so sorry if I am off base here but I am glad to hear you are already taking it! I have several posts on my website about magnesium and the pros and cons of different forms if you are interested.
Jessica
Thanks Jessica, I will certainly check out your posts. Have you stated your website address on your profile? if so I won't have a problem.
Cheers Jae ♥
I am sorry to hear that. I have never heard of this before this something new for me. I will pray for her that she a quick recovery. She is going to have to change her lifestyle as far as stress goes she is going to have to do meditation or yoga to help relax or even listen to relaxing music. I hope some of these ideas help out.
Hi Marmar, thank you for reading my post. I agree that more meditation is necessary, she does meditate but the yoga is difficult for her to attend classes as she is a single mum & working as much as she can, no time for classes.
I think yoga would be marvelous for her, maybe when the children are old enough to be left at home for an hour or so.
I am already helping her as much as I can but maybe I can encourage her to take a lesson or two whilst I baby sit....
Thanks for being involved.
Cheers Jae ♥
You are welcome She really doesn't have to take classes go to Youtube and you can find yoga positions and everything that might help her out for the time being.
Hi Marmar,
Silly me, of course Youtube can teach one anything. I just remembered Gaia Conscious Media has a whole section on
Yoga but only I am a member. It's a great website with other topics. Thanks for jogging my memory.
Cheers Jae ♥
Hi Jae
Wow, things like these happens so fast, don't they? A friend of ours, also very fit and athletic, had a Aneurism of one of main arteries. I am grateful with you that Kim is okay. Please tell her that I'm sending her a BIG ehug! ;-) And a BIG ehug to you as well Jae, it tears at a mother's heart when her children isn't well. Will keep you both in my prayers.

Hi Jae,
I'm so sorry to hear about the condition of your daughter, and am glad that she's doing fine at this moment. It's my first time to hear about this heart condition. I'm excited to learn that it is treatable.
My daughter was born without two pulmonary arteries and it was a really a complex situation. We had to take her for medication abroad and even though she didn't survive, it was a hard lesson to learn.
So I know the pain involved and I will be praying for Kim and am sure she's gonna be alright.

Paul.
Hi Paul, thanks for chiming in. What a tragedy, such a young life lost. Did you have other children that were OK?
Thanks for your attention & reading this post.

Much welcome Jae,
My story is very interesting, yes my daughter passed away on 27th at 9pm (the month and the year not important) and the following year I got a very healthy baby boy on the 27th at 9pm, exactly the same time my daughter passed on. My son is now class four in primary school and doing well.
Isn't this a miracle? I believe this was the Lord's doing and I know even in your situation, something good will happen.
Hope this inspires you to be strong.
Paul.
My thoughts Jae!
I'm am so thankful she is ok!!!! Iron woman and this.
I know, I know, things like this happens.
I will send her prayers from me Jae!
Not sure I want to say great story. One thing though
your daughter is ok! Thank God!
Frank =)
Thanks Frank, thought it important that others knew about this condition. Maybe important to focus on our children, not to strain their bodies that they may be damaged in the future.
Coaches are the; worst, they cajole and encourage young people to give more & more of their effort.
I didn't have this excessive training & at 73 I have no problems of that sort. (just aching joints lol)
All's well, thanks for your attention & blessings.
