Ants, Don't You Hate Them!

It's summer here in Oz & the ants have hit their trails. Those pesky little insects, they just seem to smell when the lid is ajar on the suger bowl - or the honey, but I just sieve them out.

Major Destroyers

I've seen cracks in concrete that widen with their coming & going. One of my clients I clean house for, had an infestation at the bottom of his house foundations. I poured Borax down & in & around. They won't be coming in their house again in a hurry.

Backing Error

Many years ago I was backing out of my driveway in my old Ford Falcon Sedan when I went a little too far & bumped my neighbours mailbox across the street. It tumbled down in a pile of bricks as the ants had eaten away the concrete that the bricks were laid with.

Expensive Error

I had to drive out to the brick works and choose the same brick and haul same back home, car groaning all the way. I found a brick layer working on another home in the neighbour hood and he came over when he finished his job and repaired the huge ugly tomb.

Not Good Enough

The lady of the house was not impressed with her new mailbox, the colour of the bricks was slighly different from her house because of the weathering etc duh!

What's The Connection?

Now the story behind this is - with diligent chunking of the work here at Wealthy Affiliats, little by little we can build money making & informative websites.

Ants lead each other to food & help each other to lift & carry things. Something we can borrow from ants.

Oh, & some people remind me of those nasty stinging ones, step on them & forget them.

Behind every nice thought there is a 'dark side'

Cheers

We have ant, fly, and mole seasons. This year we had June Bug season also. J

Ants also have a hive mind. But you are right we can learn a lot from them. We can leave each other breadcrumbs to follow in order for us to become successful. Jerry

Too right, we certainly can learn from ants

Well said.
Great lessons from this.

Thanks for the comment

Jae, I love this blog. We can learn many traits to help us from being of all kinds. Thanks. Jay

Thank you Jay, if nothing else it proves I'm a bad "backer" in my car. Nothing has changed tee hee
Jae

of course there is that but we wont tell anyone. Jay

I know about ants, your right. Have a Merry Christmas.
Trevor

Merry Xmas to you also Trevor

Nice analogy.

Thanks Dean

I'm expectANT enough to hope for an ant free season! Isn't the English language wonderful!?

Oooooh Mike, that was such a DAD joke!

Gotta watch me when I burst into popcorn Ivy. I learned something new here! I find it fascinating that you are blogging as part of your PHD!

Popcorn... OMG. You're like, the ultra-dad-jokester!

On Blogging for PhD: The people I'm writing about are all online, so it makes sense to be online as part of the outreach. But seriously, academia is divided about the use of blogs... :/

Not so much . The popcorn came from a Wikipedia description as I researched DAD jokes Ivy! Have a great Christmas! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YinF6SbzU48/Tt4EtLarMqI/AAAAAAAAABg/kKiASanaM9c/s1600/gif4.gif

Super-cute GIF!

Yes surprisingly, I like tea or eat,yes and evil - live can you explain this strange connection?

What's great is how we've EVOLved so much to love Jae!

Good one Mike

Oh, you're right about ants and summer here right now!

We're still cleaning up a carpenter ant problem in the roof at the moment. That's going to be a job that requires insecticides, wood repair, and new seals/flashing around a window. They are industrious little things. Admirable in their efforts, even if pesky. :)

Aargh, Money, Money, Money, Abba's cry. Remember the Borax!
Cheers Jae

Thanks, I will! It's going to be a Borax party!

We have some damage/ damp rot occurring up there on part of the wooden roof trusses. I so wish it were a simpler job! Thinking about carpenter ant habits, and how much they love damp wood, it's more likely they just set up shop when the damage through a leaky window was already forming. (deep sighs)

I loved that album, BTW. Mum had it on a vinyl when we were kids. I used to get giddy dancing to it, LOL.
