Thank you. I know help is available, I've gotten it before. This place is great for that. It's just frustrating to start over at the beginning. But it really couldn't be helped, and since I've been through it once I'm sure it'll come a little easier the second time around. Thanks again to both of you!

I had another question going but now that I have looked into it a little more I decided to post a whole new question. I was reading that having a static home page is not as go
I also make pages and then people get wrong impression when they see few blogs (and with not new dates) that I do not publish enough. So this is problem which I have not solved. I am looking for a good plugin which would remove dates from posts. In your case, you can publish posts and have them in the main menu as well. This is easily done. Posts can be in submenu anywhere.
Hi take a look at this Static Pages and Blog Rolls and this, and also you can use the search bar for more ;-) Customize Wordpress Menus in Themes That Don't Support Custom Menus

I just finished course 2 lesson 4. So I have a getting started page, an about me page, a privacy policy page, and I just created my first post in the last lesson. But the hom
And if I do have a static home page, can I still have latest posts being shown on the side of the page?
You surely may, just add it to your sidebar in the appearance section of widgets.
Here is a link for training on it. What and Where are Widgets? San
So I just looked in my dashboard and I have no posts. Just pages. Is it okay to set up a website this way?
The posts would be part of the blog roll. You will get to that as you fo through the training.
Yes, you can have a site made up of all pages, but it is best to use the whole Wordpress platform wich includes the blog posts. :)
Hello Firefly,
Here is a link that Leo did on creating a page, Creating A Static Blog Page he is really good and if you have any questions just ask them like this one and you will get answers.

I really don't know. Is a static homepage covered during training? What's the difference between a post and a page?
As soon as you publish your first post it will appear in home page. So check your post, are you sure it was not a page?
It depends what you want on your home page. Do you want a snippet of all your posts there or do you want a "static" home page? Static Pages and Blog Rolls
.
As Katie said, Check your reading setting and make sure you have it set for Your Latest Posts:
Go to Dashboard>Setting>Reading

I am adding category pages to my website, and I added a menu like the video instructed. I organized my pages the way I wanted them, but on my website they are all out of order
My question is. Do we need to put some of the key words that we looked up on Jaaxy into these new pages that we added?
Thank you for the response. I am still a little confused though. I understand about using them in the blogs. I am talking about using them like in your about page, reviews page and so forth.
According to the training, you will not be adding Keywords to the initial 3 Pages. Just follow Kyle's training. Pasue and play as needed.
You are talking about the "Parent" and the "Order" of your pages. Here's my explanation on page 3 of my WordPress Fast Start @ WordPress Fast Start If the page doesn't show, please go to my training and find the link for the training. Hope this helps.
I'm going to take a stab at this because I had a similar problem.
1)on the page where you created your menu there should be a spot to name it. I named mine menu one. Once you name it save the menu.
2)Then on the top of the page click menu locations. Where it says navigation menu choose the menu you just named and save changes.
Hope this helps.
I don't see navigation menu. Only primary menu and footer menu. Thanks for your help, by the way :)
Hmmm....I'm pretty new at this too. My theme only supports one menu but I would assume that your primary menu is at the top and the footer menu is along the bottom of the page. I would try primary menu and see if that is the menu you want. Were you able to name your menu?
Glad I could help!!! Good Luck. This website thing has been quite the learning experience. :)
