Need An Extra Hand

I am missing all my self-imposed target dates for completion. I cannot possibly keep up with all the activity going on at WA: welcoming members, going through the lessons, reading blogs, building my site, worrying about ranking, stressed over Google Analytics, trying to find ways to monetize, etc. You know the story. It is overwhelming. There is not enough hours in the day.

I need assistance. As an Adjunct Professor in Technology, I have access to many students who can benefit from WA's extensive library of lessons. I would like to assign these lessons to my students. Has anybody ever done this? I think it would be a win-win situation for WA since there could even be more members signing up, it would benefit my business and students could experiment and perhaps develop more lessons and techniques, and so on.

I tried an experiment with a student using my user id but under my control. The student can only access the account when I am watching and after the session, I change the password. However, this is a very clumsy way of doing it. I do not know if WA has a feature that would allow multiple access to an account, something like a sub-account with its own password.

Would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this.

I was considering going to a college and asking a prof to use my site as a project for one of their online marketing projects...sounds like a good idea to me...Even considered gong through the rugby team and offering a portion of my sties profits to help fund the team as that has been my hobby/passion since college days.

You are in a unique situation to create that program for yourself and also possibly create a whole group of student learn to create a business for themselves that will change their lives.

sounds like a great idea to me

If I am in your position, I would ask all my students to sign up via my own referral link and become my referrals. I will tell them that I will be earning $1 from WA for each student signing up but with no cost to them whatsoever. I will tell them that they are not supposed to join WA as Premium Member - not at all. The main purpose I am asking them or forcing them (using my authority as their teacher) is for educational purpose only. I will even guide them through until they finish uploading the profile image and say Hello to WA etc. This is to make very sure I got the credit from WA. Should I feel guilty of trying to make money using my authority to my students? Nope, not at all. Becuase my students do no need to pay a dime for signing up at WA. And I am not going to pressure them to become Premium either. I will use the WA platform to show or teach my students how amazingly technology has developed and how they can develop such a community in the future if they so wish etc.. There are unlimited ways or reasons to set up one's own community nowadays.

Once they have learned their lessons about the wonderful technology the students will be told that the lesson is over and they are free to either sign out or unsubscribe or stay put as long as they like with no other cost incurred on them. If one or two happen to get interested and upgrade to paid membership, that is their decision, not yours. And this again is a win-win-win because they are now members of a great community and are on the way to freedom, you get the credit from WA, and WA gains new paid member.

Agree with me?
Cheers,
Kipps

Definitely sign them up for their own accounts!

I agree with comments below. I doubt that Kyle And Carson would allow that.
Marcel...

I agree with the other comments. That would be a misuse of WA material and you would do well to sign your students up if they are interested. You could start your own training and start a list from that.

When members are paying for the right to use the information on the site, I think it is kind of a risky move. I doubt you will get permission from Kyle or Carson. The lessons and training are meant for paying members. If you have students working on it and they take the information and sell it to others it could change WA in a big way. To begin with it is against copyright and it breaks the trust the owners have with the members. It also would damage trust between members. Say I wanted someone to look at my site and give me feedback and they hand it over to someone else that takes the information to use as their own. I have poured my life and soul into my sites and I would be devastated. Just my two cents. Could you hire someone from WA to work on your site? If it were me I wouldn't worry about rankings if you are short on time. Worry only about your site and content. You can monetize further down the road, It is fun to read other blogs, but not necessary. Just put your priorities on your website. That would probably be a lot less stressful. Then if you have a few spare minutes, chat or read a blog. Don't worry about rankings. I do, but then I'm a retired teacher so I have plenty of time on my hands.

I think you need to contact Kyle and Carson if you want to do this.

Thanks for the feedback. I did not intend this to circumvent membership and copyright issues which I am very aware of. Let me clarify. The student that participated in the experiment was only for a brief period and more for demonstration purposes to see and observe the power of technology and how nowadays, technology advanced so much that an HTML skill set is not necessary to build websites anymore. WA has captured in one place all the tools - I have not found this anywhere else. I was thinking more an educational feature within WA that would allow limited portions of the site that students can access and learn from. I apologize for the confusion. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Regards, Fred

That might be interesting.

You definitely mean well, but do you realise that these wealth of information are for members only. Use your conviction to encourage your students out there to sign up. If you take the lessons out, that will be piracy. What do others think here?
