30 Thankful Days Series - Day 5 - I am Thankful for the Roof over My Head

Hello WA Family👋

How's your week so far? Do you have plans on how you spend your first weekend in November?

My week has been centered or focused on my family and my Dad. I don't have the energy and mood for writing articles on my websites even though I wanted to.

A friend of mine told me to focus on myself and my family in Arizona. It is okay to be worried and thinking about my Dad who is sick, but my friend also told me that my days should also be spent wisely considering I have a baby girl and it is great to keep making memories with her. She won't be small forever. Dad has Mom, my sister, brother, my Mom's siblings who will take care of him and the house.

So today my Mom, sister, brother, and Dad left our hometown (Palangka Raya in Central Kalimantan) for the city called Banjarmasin. It's in South Kalimantan province. It takes about 6 hours drive to get there. My Dad's friend who is a resident of Banjarmasin city has already arranged the appointment to see a well-known internist. The same internist whom my Dad always sees whenever he visits Banjarmasin. I hope they will have safe travel and Dad can get the help he needs. 🙏 According to American College of Physicians, "Internists routinely see patients with conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and chronic lung disease."

My Mom's siblings help us out by taking care of my parents' house and all our pets (2 dogs, 2 turtles, and my sister's 5 cats). That house was my home for almost 30 years before I got married and moved to Arizona. Our family has never moved from that old house. It's where I grew up, learned about many things my parents taught me, there's a lot of memories in that house.

Now that I live in Arizona, I have my own family and home. It is not the same, but I believe that it is a comfortable place for my baby, my husband, and me. A place for us to create our memories, to love and be loved.

Today I am thankful for the roof over my head. We are so thankful that my husband can still work at the same company he has been for the last 8 years. We are lucky that the pandemic does not affect us financially. My husband's job pays him really well. Even so, I told my husband I want to work from home. So that's why I have been teaching English online since the end of 2018. In 2020, through Grace LittleMama, I found Wealthy Affiliate and I started my own online business.

I love WA and its community. I consider it as my home as well.
