Does it help to share social media with WA members or your friends?

Short answers is yes but the way I see many WA members does it in fx the Share your G-account here from Kyle. Then I feel free to say that it can be done better.

Kyle is also writing than we shouldn't use more than 15 minutes pr day on social media because the time can be used better else where.

I do agree with him and let's be honest to say that besides training then WA is also a community where we help each other with interaktions that hopefully leads to better rankings and more customers.

Many WA members use time on likes, follows and similar actions on social medias. I will not say that no likes or follows are better than a lot of them, but I will say that it helps zero in google rankings.

Many likes and follows will look good on your social media site and it can help your post to reach more people. To be seen by more people. I say can, because the social media algorithm like Facebook decides how many people that see your post.

Fx if you post something on your Facebook company page then Facebook writes below the post how many people the post have reached. It means how many people have seen it on their screen. Then next to there is an option to boost(pay) so the post can be seen by more people.

The Facebook algorithm decides how many people will see the post and like google the Facebook algorithm is pretty simple. The more people that find your post or the content in your post interesting - the more and more people will see the post and creates a snowball effect.

It is a snowball effect the first 5-30 minutes from when you posted are important. The faster people start to like your post the more people will see the post. Facebook use interaktions to decide how many people will see the post.

10-20 likes on a 6 hour old post gives you nearly nothing besides it looks good and maybe others can see the likes.

How do we here at WA gets better results with social media?

Likes and follows are low value interaktions because it's easy to do. Unless it happens quickly after the post is posted then I don't take it for any value.

Clicks on links and photos rate a bit higher because it takes a bit more time to do. Facebook can also track how long time you used on the link that you clicked. It tells Facebook how interesting the post is for people. Like google then Facebook rank quality content above anything else.

The best way to use your friends and WA community is interaktions with comments and shares. WA have their own website comments service so I will only talk about social media comments. Primary Facebook but all social media use the same system.

What takes the most time? Click on like or write a comment?

Facebook and all other ranking algorithm knows that more time you use on a post/article the interesting it is, so they will rank it higher or show it to more people.

Here on WA we can't get likes and follows the first 30 minutes after we post something on Facebook so I will put my neck out and say one comment is better than 50 likes. I also know that you probably will prefer to give 50 likes, rather then write 5 comments on a post.

The algorithm knows that so they rank comments much higher.

What about shares?

Likes are free and takes no time to do. Comments takes time. Shares are bit different.

To share something is only a click but some of your friends/followers can see what you share( I write some because Facebook only show what you share to a small procentage of your friends/followers. How that works I can do in another post)

Google search engine also notice when you comment on social media if there is a web page linked in the post you comment. Again it tells google that the web page is interesting so it gets some more ranking points.

SO to share Besides the obvious value in sharing so the post goes more direct viral, then there is a trust gain.

Will you share something you don't believe in or care about? Most people will say no and Facebook algorithm knows that. So when you share something it tells the algorithm that post is interesting and it shows it to more people.

Will you like something you don't believe in or care about? Maybe if your friends or WA members ask you to do it. I help you - you help me terms. Facebook algorithm knows that.

Sorry for a long post but I could probably write many pages about branding and sales on facebook:-)

To summon up

If you want your time on social media to be worth the effort than work harder to get comments, reviews with comment and shares on social medias.

Thanks for reading

Hi Faxe6000, Thank you for your blog. I don't use Facebook as I have never signed up or needed to have it in the past. I am focusing on learning how to use Google + at the moment. Your article will be handy when I get Facebook. I don't want to rush anything and get confused. Have a great day. Dave

Hi

That is a good plan to learn one thing at the time. Otherwise you risk get buried in work and new stuff.

Regards
Michael
