So You Want New Visitors To Your Site
I got to thinking about what makes me stay on a website. Hmmmm....So I went to a couple of websites and i consciously paid attention to what makes me stay or not. I noticed that I quickly glanced over the site to see what it was all about, the colors and graphics, the about page. I noticed that I wanted the about page to tell me what it could do for ME. I didn't care to know how wonderful the owner of the site was or all their accomplishments. What can you do for ME? The next things I noticed:the content. Did it speak to me. Did it answer a question or problem that I had, especially did it answer what I typed into Google. Because Google is where I go to find whatever I'm looking for. And if I ended up on a page that didn't answer what I was looking for or that seemed misleading then I would be very unhappy.
All of the above takes me less than two minutes. And of course if I'm not interested at all I'm gone, and fast.
