There is a famous saying, “fall down seven times, stand up eight”, I never knew the true meaning of it until I experienced what I considered the biggest downfall of my life – my heart was crushed into millions when the girl I was supposed to propose to and build my dreams with left me without a warning. At first I thought it was my entire fault, I was the type that gets contended easily and enjoys life with the simplest things as long as we were together gave me satisfaction, so I never got the chance to share my future dreams and plans with her. She never got to hear how much I wanted us to have a better life together; I was planning to use the money I was saving up to build a profitable business that will not keep much time away from each other. I already planned on enjoying our life together while we both do what we love.

Hopeless and devastated, the impact of my emotional pain rapidly translates to my daily routine. I lost interest in going to the gym, instead I spent my spare time drinking alone or at a bar, always stress eating to fuel my emotion, I immediately gained weight which has worsened my body image. Depression was the life I was leading into, my job and social life has been greatly affected as well.

With my friends and family's support, it took me a while to get back to my senses. I decided to pull myself back together and work on making myself better. Though she left, it should not stop me from reaching the plans I have in my life. I enrolled in a loss weight program, rebuilt my healthy eating habits, and focused on my goal which was to put up a business without compromising my current job as I could not afford to lose it that time. After a long research and as someone who has a background in digital media, I decided to use my experience and venture into the online marketing business.

My first project was my brother’s long time business, promising him to increase his profit by gaining more customers online through marketing – we posted on various social media platforms, mobile, and email marketing. In no time, he has seen dramatic growth in sales and made his product known all over our town and nearby areas.

Months passed, I developed more programs on how to help people sell their own products and services globally. With its convenience, low cost for operations and personalization it’s easy to attract more clients to venture into digital marketing which promises passive income while enjoying life without interruption and have more time for personal growth.

Now I know why I went through the hardest storm so I can see and appreciate the rainbow. No matter how you stumble and faced with the most excruciating pain from a heartbreak that will make you feel like there’s no way out - It’s okay to grieve and be upset for a time but make sure to know when to move on, get back up and use your misfortune to improve and make yourself well-equipped to excel in what you do. Enjoying life does not mean only you only take the good ones but also the bad that comes with it.
