I need help a little help on deciding the best route to go in terms of picking a niche. Should I pick a main niche that has potentially good sub-niches with good low hanging fr
Hi. It's better to start with an evergreen niche. First, pick a market (that would be the main market, like dog training, weight loss, make money online. Those are the larger markets). Then within those markets you look for a niche. The market is the umbrella, and the niche is the sub component of the market.
So for instance, if you wanted to do dog training, you'd do well to pick a specific breed and build your site around that breed instead of trying to target all dogs or dog training in general.
For make money online market, you might focus on affiliate marketing or make a site on how to make money using clickbank, or how to drive traffic to your site, or how to use social media.
I hope that helps.
Should I pick niche market or a niche product?

I just bought a domain name but realized it's to specific for a sub-niche and I wanted something that would include a related niche. I'm now trying to decide whether to get a m
You want your niche to be specific and singular. You can always write articles on your site that extend out from the main niche but they should be relevant to the niche.
If you have a domain that is specific to your niche then you are moving along in the right direction.
ROCK ON!

Thank you very much Eric for the advice. I got a domain that was for home electronic devices but I would also like to include furnitures. Thinking about what you said to be specific and singular. Now I'm no longer sure if my selected niche is targeted and specific enough. Do I have to drill down to one specific classification of items like and make a site only for maybe just light bulbs?
You can do light bulbs and that is even a broad niche.
If you are looking at home electronics you want to drill down to a specific "audience" (audience and niche are interchangeable terms).
For instance you could go for something like the perfect man cave. This is a solid narrow audience in which you can now market not only home theatre goods but furniture, lighting, dart boards, pool tables, kegerators, cable/satellite service, sports memorabilia and so on.
You could turn this another way and target an aging/older audience for electronics. They would prefer items that are super user friendly and easy to install. Their fashion sense will be different too.
how about the best kids game room .... I think you get the idea now. Think of the audience(niche) and not so much the goods you wish to peddle .... those will be defined by your audience.
If you need anything let me know.
ROCK ON!

Thanks Eric. I think I'm more confident of getting the other domain now as it's directed to a specific audience but allows me to promote multiple products.
I think I understand better now how to pick a niche. But just to be sure I just want to confirm that picking a niche is more selecting a target audience first and then finding suitable products to promote?
Again thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
You're welcome. :-)
Yes, you have it correct. A niche is the audience and a niche should be specific or targeted. once you have your audience/niche then you can worry about selecting products and affiliate programs.
You're on a roll now, keep it going!

Is it a must to have the keywords appear on the domain name?

I found a niche I like and I got a couple of domains for it then I tried other similar domain names and they are also available. Should I get them all and redirect to one websi
No. Just get one. There's no benefit to buying other new domains and pointing them towards another site.
No point splitting your time to make a few sites with very similar content when you could be using it to write one , far better, site.
