The 10 Post Goal: R and D!

I think more people should attack their first niche website with less pressure on themselves.

Everyone tries to hit some kind of homerun on the first swing. How about just getting your hands dirty with all the tools you have available first? Choose any niche that you have an interest in. Start using Hubs and see how the Article Designer works. Create your first ten posts one by one. Start finding your rhythm. Start learning how you like to format and lay out your content. Start building out your menus and see how you can create a solid user experience for a perspective reader.

Those first ten posts on your site aren’t there to be your greatest hits. They're your foundation. They're the R & D phase where you find out what works for you and what doesn't. You're figuring this out for yourself. You're allowing the gears in your brain to start moving and your creative juices to start flowing.

Who knows? 10 posts in maybe you start to really, really like what you've built because you didn't put so much pressure on yourself. OR, maybe 6 articles in you realize you have a lot more to say about a specific aspect of this broader niche and now you're re-thinking your approach and excited about the new direction.

Those initial posts are where you find your voice. You learn how to format your reviews, how to talk to your audience, and how to use the all WA's tools effectively. By the time you hit post ten, you’ve built up enough momentum to look back and see a pattern. You’ll see which topics felt natural to write and which ones were like pulling teeth.

So, don’t put so much pressure on yourself.
