Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast

We see this all the time.
A new member joins, they're filled with inspiration, then they try to build a 50 page authority site in 48 hours.

I get it.
Excitement is addictive. But if you rush the foundation, the house will eventually lean.

As a firefighter I'm always telling my crew that we don't run on the fire ground. It's more about no wasted movements than it is running like chickens with our heads cut off. The family and bystanders on scene are gonna be going crazy and losing it, that's expected. Their house is burning down, their family or friend is having a medical emergency. We're paid to not lose it. We're professionals. This isn't our first fire or medical call.

We have a saying:"Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast."

In affiliate marketing, when you try to move at 100 miles an hour, you miss the "smooth" parts. You pick a niche you aren't actually interested in. You rush past the keyword research and target terms that are way too competitive. You copy and paste AI content without making it your own. You're zooming into advanced concepts like email marketing and PPC before you've really learned how to blog.

Does that sound familiar?

Moving "slow" just means being intentional.
Focus first on actually learning what you're doing. You're not hitting a homerun with the first swing. Tell yourself this is just an assignment in a class project where you're learning how to build a website. It's for your eyes only. This takes all the pressure off and allows you to learn.

When the process is smooth, the results actually show up faster because next month you're not going backward to fix all the mistakes you rushed through today.

If you’re feeling behind today, it's ok. Just take a breath.

You aren't racing anyone else in this community. You're building your very own digital asset that's going to pay you for years to come. Give that asset the respect of a solid foundation.

Follow the core training lesson by lesson. Finish the tasks it asks of you in each lesson. Don't jump ahead or try to catch up to the guy who's been here 10 years and is incorporating all those bells and whistles you want on your website.

Focus on creating your content. Your content acts as the hooks you're throwing in the water to catch your fish. If you don't have good bait then it doesn't matter if your reel is state of the art or if you're decked out in top of the line fishing gear. Aim for 10 posts a month as a brand new beginner. As you progress, up the bar to 20.

Pick one thing on your site that you’ve been rushing.
Slow down.
Make it "smooth."
Then watch how much faster you actually start moving tomorrow.
