How to Group Blocks Using the Block Editor

It's time for your daily dose of Wordpress Wisdom! In today's quick tutorial I'll show you how to group blocks in the block editor. Grouping blocks can come in handy if you want to place several blocks together in one container. These blocks can be all different types, they don't have to all be the same. Once they are grouped you could potentially save them together as a patter to use in other posts as well. Let me show you just how easy this is to do using the block editor!

As always, feel free to share this video with anyone needing help with this. If you have any Wordpress related questions that you'd like to see me create a tutorial around feel free to send me a private message or leave me a message on my profile.

If you want to check out all my Wordpress Wisdom tutorials you can go to the WA smart search up top or just head over to my blog.

Loving this tidbit training! 😎👍
Way to make blog life easier!
Thank you Eric!

You're very welcome! I love putting it together!

I have a website where I have Added Elementor (page Builder) And have built out a few pages with that along with a few posts.

But with all this great training I’d rather use the block editor.

I also have a subscription to GP Premium. But haven’t been able to find training on this one easily.

Please help advise me on how to ‘switch’ from Elementor to block editor.
And is GP Premium an upgrade to block editor is my understanding?

Thanks

If you were to go from Elementor to the normal block editor your best bet would be to set up a staging site so you can remove the Elementor plugins, set your theme, and go back into your content to get it all looking right. By doing this on a staging site it allows you to do it without affecting your live site.

I have one site I built with Elementor and I'm sure if I removed the Elementor plugin the entire thing would be wonky. So definitely use a staging site. Generate Press Premium gives you more options for backgrounds, menus, and I think there are some pre-customized themes you can plug right into and I think a few more blocks, but if you can navigate around the block editor with the free version you'll be fine. 👍🏼

Thanks Eric!

Great Eric. Thank you. I've dabbled with 'group' but now I really understand it. How about patterns - have you covered that somewhere? I think I missed it, so could you give me the link please?

Blessings and Success.

Yeah I did one on adding and creating patterns. 👍🏼You can either use the search up top or just go to my blog 💯
