An issue with duplicate content
I haven't been posting much lately because I have been working hard on my websites. However, I recently read an article that prompted me to quickly write this post. According to a recent SEMrush study the most severe issue they detected when conducting SEO site audits was duplicate content. Anonymous data was collected from 100,000 websites and 450 million pages. It was found that 50% of the websites audited faced duplicate content issues!
I can't believe that this figure is so high. It is actually good news for those of us who try to post the best original content we can come up with. If so many people are just rehashing the work of others, there is plenty of opportunity for those who really have something new to say.
Even if you find it difficult to come up with something completely different, put your own slant on the topic and give it your own flavour. This will make it stand out from the rest.
Cheers and have a great day filled with inspiration!

My previous 'guru' made mention of this...I think people know when they read a post that has come from the heart...
Wow Erica, I too did not realize that this was such a problem....I am sure that some of this may be landing pages and such that people have neglected to check the do not follow option when they publish the page? That is just a thought, maybe not the case...Cheers! Dave : )
I think it may be a combination of this and all the viral content that gets spread around through social sharing, etc.
Sound advice Erica - far too much duplication out there and not enough original thinking.

Well said! I seems that Integrity and Trust are two critical attributes that the world is quickly losing. Why? It's a mystery to me but I remember that when my dad bought his first car he never took out the key. The thought never crossed his mind that someone might take something that didn't belong to them. He wasn't a religious man but he trusted others. Perhaps it was for the better that we grew up baci in the bush where everyone knew everyone else very well.
Trust and integrity are so important, Roger, and it's sad that it seems to be in such short supply these days.
