My niche is the baby and infants niche. I find it difficult enough maybe I've said this before. I never expected WA to go hand in hand with writers block...

Then again there is such a thing as poetic licence!

I think I should have concentrated more in school when it came to English. Now I see Wealthy Affiliate as a kind of tertiary education! Do you believe me? In a sense it is, has and will be... I think I said that incorrectly maybe it is "has, is and will be".

Let me explain myself -

  1. It has been a kind of tertiary education because -
We can all imagine the amount of Wealthy Affiliates that have 'made it'. After spending years on the internet, their own website and whatever else, they have gained tons of knowledge on what it takes to be an affiliate. To put it bluntly they are now highly educated in their field, whatever it's called! Internet marketing? I think one day I'll know exactly.
  2. It is a kind of tertiary education because - I have learnt things here that nobody else I'll meet could be bothered to learn. Not to mention the nerves you get with committing to Wealthy Affiliate every month! This aside I have started to fill the gaps, meaning the questions I have about Wealthy Affiliate... I have already started melting down the many digital pages of info. into some handfuls of handwritten pages you can find next to my small desk! This info. is like scaling Everest but it's not always hard to do rather I mean it doesn't stop growing! Growing exponentially...
  3. It will be a kind of tertiary education because - After a good amount of time maybe a year I think I will have learnt too much to say I'm not on my way to earning a kind of degree here on WA...

This I have mentioned in order to highlight my enthusiasm here within WA...

In a year from now I think I have some idea of what to expect from my training. Your education as an affiliate is not a joke by the time one or two years goes by...

I have currently written 16 articles and published them all on my website...

I think my domain name is really kind of 'weak' but it's my first time.

Here's a link - http://infantslook.com/

Judge me, judge me not! Judge me, judge me not...

I have in fact learnt something I wouldn't say out loud! Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to believe nowadays that most businesses don't know what they're doing. I also find them quite grumpy whether it's the owner or the employees (that I undertand though)...

As soon as I'm uncomfortable in someone's business like a Deli, I apologise but I'm leaving soon and I won't go back!

I have a couple of questions. They are technical but if you answer I'll remember each answer for good and always.

  • What is the most number of links I can add into a post? Right now I'm going with three to five and no more...
  • How many words can I put inside each post at most? I know Kyle says he likes to keep writing until he has expressed everything he wants to say on a subject. Is 1300 words the limit or 1500? Do you even recommend such long posts? I think getting each post out quickly might be better than writing too much. What do you think???
  • How many posts do I need, in your opinion, to start earning money from my website?

Thanks for reading my Q's. If you don't want to answer, it is perfectly okay with me...

I started out finding 350 words hard to spit out but now I can see myself completing each post in much less time and with more enthusiasm. I'm sorry but a website is a big deal...

My plans are simple -

  • I want to complete four tasks, if not more, daily (in my training).
  • I wish to let very few people in on this training because I believe they might distract me. "It's a long-shot," my dad said. I've heard it and I felt doom with what he said. Most people are sceptical and they are baggage in my opinion right now...
  • I want to keep working on my website and training until I can say I'm studying it just as if I was in high school or in university.

My goals are even more simple, just joking...

In the upcoming three months:

  1. I hope for more endurance on my PC if y'all know what I mean. Sounds silly!
  2. More skill in writing on any subject I can think of.
  3. I want to have confidence that my training in WA can't be distracted because others don't believe in it

In the upcoming six months:

  1. I would like to see if I am one of the most knowledgable people I know in terms of the internet. Is it a longshot? Who cares... Most of us reading this blog know a great deal about not giving up. As I'm writing we're all scared of quitting! Just joking...
  2. I want to feel perfectly at home working all alone!
  3. I hope to be much more inspired by my training and work as a WA member!

Thanks for reading...

    Hi Eric68,

I have been in WA for just over 5 months. Bogs are the lifeblood of our websites. You are right in trying to figure out how to create the most effective ones.

Firstly, as beginners we are taught to write a blog with at east 1000 words. I have news for you. Aim for 1500 to 2000 of quality content. The more the merrier for Aunty Google!

May I point you in the right direction to help break the writers block? In the website creation area there is a template I highly recommend you use. It is an outline to plan your Blog Post. Here is the link:

    https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/content/create/2101

You can find this by clicking the following tabs in order shown:

    Website (On the left margin)
    Site Content
Template tab at the top right
Select the Keyword Rich Content Page

Before you start writing, figure out the best Keyword Title you can derive. Use Jaaxy naturally.

When you find one that has the traffic numbers 50-100 and the QSR number less than 50 (WA recommends less than 100 but I say go with less. the fewer the better)

Let's pick the following as an example:

    Baby Girl Winter Outfits

This gives reasonable stats as shown in the attachment below.

If you were searching for this product would a website with the title, Baby Girl Winter Outfits grab your attention? I don't think so even though it has good stats.

Here is a lesson that I learned much later. You DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE KEYWORD EACTLY like you entered in Jaaxy.

You've got to add something at the beginning, or at the end to spice it up. For example:

3 Best Baby Girl Winter Outfits

Baby Girl Winter Outfits to Keep Your Little Girl Snug

A common method is to add a number at the start. Like I did above. As long as the Keyword you entered into Jaaxy is enveloped like this, it can generate more interest.

The reason why I am spending so much time with the Keyword is no matter how great your post is, it doesn't matter if nobody clicks on the title of your web post. I hope you get the idea.

Now, think of all the features and benefits of the outfit you want to tell your target market about. Create sub titles for each of these and enter them into the template. Make sure the last title is a call to action. You can add more sub titles is necessary to make your point.

Then start filling in the blanks to write your post.

Try this approach and see how it goes.

Don't worry about the title of your website. That is not as important as the titles for your posts.

Regarding links. Two to three the most is all you need. One at the beginning, one in the middle and one at the end. If you use too many, Google will penalize you.

Eventually you will learn that the Review Post is the best place to place your banners and links and send your visitors to that post where they can access the store, rather than the links all over your article.

But don't worry about that now.

I wish you much success in your baby products niche. It is a great one I think.

    Edwin

    Okay...

    Really well done!

You have essentially written your own blog in response to mine! Kind of...

You have definitely answered my questions thoroughly...

I do not understand why more words in each post will help me with Google... I will take your advice though. I think more words will have more impact on your audience. Am I wrong?

I do know the 'Keyword Rich Content Page' already but the subtitles is what I have struggled with. The subtitles mean you have to stay very specific and I find that hard to do. Now and then at least...

Now I do hear you on getting a QSR number at 50 and less. That I will implement right away especially since I see from your keyword suggestions that each one is actually at a QSR of 0! They are:

'3 Best Baby Girl Winter Outfits' & 'Baby Girl Winter Outfits to Keep Your Little Girl Snug'...

I will have to get the knack for searching for keywords on Jaaxy but from today on I will definitely keep trying as you have suggested. Before I settle on a heading for my article I will try and write from keywords that have QSR's of just zero. Thanks!!!

I forgave myself often when it comes to almost everything I've been doing on WA because I know I can change it later (if I have the energy). I can just get good as soon as I know how... If some audience members read my first posts I'm not too worried.

I prefer the idea of writing reviews! They feel satisfying to complete even though I have only two as it goes.

You said, "Eventually you will learn that the Review Post is the best place to place your banners and links and send your visitors to that post where they can access the store, rather than the links all over your article."

I understand this but I am waiting for the specific technique from Kyle on the training videos. I remember he mentioned this but it was so brief I had to just make a mental note of it. He is so thorough, I trust that he will cover it later on!!!

I chose this niche to push myself. I mean that if I choose a niche I know very little about, I will learn a totally new subject in-depth. Just like taking accounting in school for the first time! Each niche we are able to choose on WA is a new subject of course. That is too much to ask for I think... People don't learn new things everyday like you can here on Wealthy Affiliate!!!

Thank you so much for your tuition...

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

Google looks for websites and posts that are an authority on a specific niche. If you focus on finding out the problems your target audience faces and explain how your product will provide a solution, that will solidify your authority reputation with a Google.

Don’t spend too much time searching for keywords with 0 QSR. Less than 50 is a good start.

You got the right idea to succeed.

    Cheers.

    Edwin

    Thank you...

I will definitely try my best to find keywords under 50 QSR. I guess a person can always take it to the next level if they know how. Experience and thinking out of the box can help you find more efficient ways forward!!!

Have a lovely time here in WA!!!

    Eric
