What Is Your Escape?
Our form of escape comes in many forms. Some of us may go for a run at the beach, read a book, play video games, and others will go to the casino. We are all doing it for one common reason...and that is to feel good. Our brains associate a euphoric feeling with a particular activity and we naturally just crave it each time. Some of these obviously can be dangerous to our health or to our bank account. Needless to say, we will all live the life we want and nobody can force us to make a change. I am writing this article in hopes to encourage us to at least be open-minded. Living a life closed off to potential opportunities and ultimate happiness is a life wasted. The abundance of resources available to us today is mind-boggling and we need to begin using it to our advantage.
We won't be able to experience ultimate happiness just staying where we are. Even if you finally got that house you wanted, what's next? The answer is inner peace. Exploring our inner selves is the most challenging project of all. I used to be too dependent on people to make me happy. I noticed that when I was alone, I was bored and depressed so I would seek attention. I knew that I couldn't live like that for too long so I finally made a change. Being alone, actually, is very powerful. If I never made that change, I probably wouldn't be here writing this article. Self reflection will move you in ways you would never imagine. All you need to do is just give yourself the time of day. Even if this means just sitting out on your porch with a cup of tea and listening to music. Truly, this is the most powerful feeling I have ever felt.
I hope you will find yours or that you already have!
Id love to hear your forms of escape and how you have overcome certain life challenges or struggles.
Be safe and be well everyone!
