Should You Build A Brand?

Should i build a brand? That is one question i have been asking myself since i joined Wealthy Affiliate two weeks ago. I come from a community that advocates for "Attraction Marketing" this discipline is a lot about Personal Branding. By the fact that people buy from people they trust and know, Attraction Marketing suggests that you should always brand YOU first before you talk about the company and product.
When i came to Wealthy Affiliate, i was so hooked by the product and the community that i wanted to stay and build a business here. What has been confusing me though is; "Should i build a brand, and more importantly, should the brand be a “personal” brand...or a “company” brand?
Looks like the community here doesnt care a lot about Personal Branding, i see people's profiles without their actual pictures and not using their real names, some times you want to address people by their name and all you see are numbers, how then do you market to strengers?
