Life is Lived on an Escalator

I can still feel the excitement of that day as a little boy when I went to the mall with my family. A little boy in a huge mall fascinated by all the architecture and mechanical movements especially the movement of the escalators; the one escalator moving up and another next to it moving down. I remember being intrigued by so many people taking one step onto the escalator and allowing it to take them to its end destination without any further action or resistance on their part. So many other times during our visits to the mall I’ve continued to watch people as they traveled up and down escalators and I’ve even build up the courage to get on some escalators while holding my mother’s hand.

Well time went by and I grew a bit older, another visit to the mall and once again fascinated by the movement of the escalators. By now I was much more confident going on the escalator all by myself. My heart started to beat faster in my chest as a thought arose that would eventually change my life forever; will I be able to take action and climb up the escalator that was moving down?

This question needed to be answered and I waited for my opportunity to take on my quest to conquer the ever moving escalator. I did take on the escalator that day and I did make it to the top. With blood rushing and my heart beating like never before, I was standing at the top of the escalator looking down with an image burned into my mind forever.

As the years went by, I have learned a few things about how to live life and about that day on the escalator and through this blog, I have the privilege of sharing with you some of those lessons that I have learned.
