One month, one confession: Opportunity is heavy!

Let me just blurt it out. I’m working on two websites and not giving enough love to just one. This isn’t good.

Firstly, I have a light “lifestyle” blog that’s been going for about a year. I’d often thought about monetising it, but had no idea how. I then started thinking about starting up a niche fashion blog, which would be easier to monetise, and that’s when I finally signed up to WA.

I made it through the Level 1 certification and felt really good. I started thinking about my fashion blog, but didn’t implement the ideas there. I started implementing them on my lifestyle blog instead. However, most of my posts on the lifestyle blog don’t have calls to action, or discussions of items to which I could link. It’s a place I go to share my thoughts and advice, even though I know that my audience will always be extremely small. But thanks to WA, I now believe that my little lifestyle blog could be something one day.

How is this positivity a problem? Well, I still want to work on my fashion blog idea. It’s a good niche within the massively popular fashion genre and there’s no shortage of items to promote. It’s easy to promote across social media too, because there are always good images.

The end result is that I now have this crazy, zillion-column spreadsheet of what I want to write about, which blog to put it on, what date to do it, and which social networks to share it on. I’m not sure I can keep up with my own ideas! I’m a little concerned that I’m putting too much faith in my blind optimism and MS Excel.

Having said that, the word “blind” in the previous sentence was autocorrected to “bling”. I will take that as a good sign!
