Efficient writing in English - a struggle of a non-native English speaker.
Within this month's training on the Super Affiliate challenge, Kyle addressed a topic that has been bothering me for the past months.
As my native language is Portuguese and my website is in English, I had to add a couple of steps among the ones that Americans, British, Australians etc usually follow through.

The entire process takes a long time (much longer than a native speaker, I'm sure). On the bright side, I get to enjoy quite a few cups of coffee, my favorite drink. :-)
After I write my content, I run a spelling checker within SiteContent, then copy/paste it into Translate where it also gets checked by Grammarly.
Sometimes I have to use alternate tools like Linguee (thanks, Mia @MEsmeriz, for the tip).
After correcting the errors and modifying words and expressions that don't seem to make much sense, I copy/paste it back to SiteContent.
Kyle's suggested writing process will help me immensely as it will save me some time that I'll make sure to invest checking and improving the quality of my content.
Certainly, as I practice, this process will eventually become easier and easier.
I always keep in mind that "it's not how good you are, it's how good you want to be."

Now back to work! :-)

Good for you to work so hard to perfect the quality of the language in each article. I've been in this industry for quite a while and I know that language does count. Consumers reading a site that is obviously written by a non-native English speaker click away, even though they may not consciously know why. It is worth all you are going through to achieve the ultimate goal.
Jeannine,
Thanks for the straightforward message. I'll keep that in mind every time I write a new post.
And I'm certainly going to do my best to keep my readers' attention and not scare them away.
Wishing you all the best,
Eliane
Thank you for the wonderful post, and your wonderful attitude, Eliane.
With many best wishes :)
Eliane,
I can't tell you how much respect I have for you. This is a terrific job. I wouldn't be able to do it, so I write in French. Point.
But I hapen to do the same job for the interactions here, the blogs, the training, and really it is so time consuming.
I loved to do it before I began with the swag, because I wanted to learn and improve my English at the same time.
Now under the pressure, I don't even have time to check all the words that I don't understand.
You deserve a big big success.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Anne.
I wish you lots of success, too.
Oh, and happy International Women's Day! :-)
Here another "not-native-terrible-English-writer" and even worse English speaker, who hopes that the native English here will correct me whenever I fail.
I don't think you're a terrible English writer, Loes.
In fact, I like to see how much content you create and post in English. It's inspiring!
May I ask if you use any other tool that makes things easier for you?
I know what you are talking about - I'm in the same boat. But I think you have a very thorough approach to writing in English and also, you have ideas you want to communicate. It's better to know what you want to write about and to know how to improve your language than being a native speaker struggling to find a topic to talk/write about. It's easier to improve language skills than being creative if it isn't your second nature.
Great point, Sammy!
What kind of tools (if any) do you use?
Thanks for the comment and good luck with your writings as well.
I just use the standard spell and grammar checker and also try to keep it simple. The main thing is that people can understand what you try to bring across. But of course, this would be much easier for a native speaker.

Sounds complicated Eliane. Hope Kyle's method will very much simplify the process for you.
Lol
We get used to doing this entire process, Goran!
Things are improving little by little... Kyle’s method (to some extent) and just practicing over and over.
Thanks for leaving a comment.
I hope things are getting better for you.
All the best.
