John Maxwell Leadership Quotes - What I learned from the certification training
Hey gang,
I apologize. I tried to post my notes as I carried about my day but WA did not let me post because I have not been premium for more than three months. I am only allowed one per day.
I am posting this late and have to get up early in the morning so what I will do right now is most the most important nuggets I received and when I can actually sit down and write my thought I will post a well thought out post.
For now if any of things strikes a cord feel free to use it to your advantage.
Here it is:
John is working on a new book and has coined a new phrase:
- Leadershift - The ability and willingness to make a lasting change that will enhance my and my company's growth.
- The Leadership game does not stay the same.
- "Yesterday's home run won't win today's game." - Babe Ruth
- Growth is change; therefore continued growth means continued change resulting in a leadershift.
- If you are growing and your inner circle is not growing they become uncomfortable with your growth. You are in the wrong circle
How do you Leadershift?
- Continually Learning, Unlearning, and Re-learning. It is never ending cycle that never stops. You should never stop growing.
- Test, Fail, Learn, Improve, Re-enter
- Value Yesterday but Live Today
- Don't live off of yesterday's successes.
- See the big picture as the picture keeps getting bigger
- As the picture gets bigger the person gets bigger.
- We have to live in today but think about tomorrow.
- The future arrives unannounced
- If you are going to Leadershift correctly you have to move courageously in times of uncertainty
- Life expands or shrinks in proportion to our courage.
- Realize that today's best will not beat tomorrow's challenges.
- Life does not unfold slower or easier.
I have so many more notes but I think this should get you started in the wealth of knowledge I am receiving. Take some time to reflect on this abstract statements and I will post a more thoughtful post, soon.
Contact me for any questions or elaboration. Thanks.
