Be Honest, Be Generous, and Be Successful
Honesty is the best policy. Be generous or be a giver and you will receive rewards from above tenfold or even hundredfold. These are the common words we heard from the church, from school, some friends, and most likely from our parents. And I treat it seriously.
My Father's Story Telling
When I was a young boy my father told me a story. A story of an honest man and the cheater. Let me call the honest man as "Mr Y" and Mr. X to the cheater. The duo went to bird hunting. Mr Y puts his net in the ground while Mr. X in the branch of a tree. They agreed to revisit their net on the next day at 7.00 o' clock in the morning. But Mr X broke the agreement, as he visited alone earlier at 5 o' clock in the morning. He found Mr Y's net catches a huge wild boar while his' just had a small bird. So Mr Y's quick decision was to interchanged their catch.
At 7 o'clock In the Morning
The duo went together to revisit their net. Mr X had pretended to Mr. Y his excitement about their catch to convince the first that he didn't visit earlier. But Mr Y didn't care about it but just took the catch and went home.
Two Years Later
The friends met again. Mr. Y was now very rich. Mr X was so amazed and asked what happened. Mr Y told the latter that the bird made him rich. The bird has been giving him money through her waste. Mr X quickly think, he should borrow the bird from Mr Y in order to make him rich too. Mr. X got successfully the bird.
The Cheater was Punished
Mr. X took the bird home and feed with so much food and was expecting to have much money as he overfeeds the bird.
Mr X was so excited. He didn't get a sleep that night. Early in the morning, Mr. X opened immediately the huge jar where he put the bird overnight. Dipped his hand to the jar believing himself there are a lot of money in the jar. But as he picked his hand back, the jar was full only of bird's waste.
The Moral Lesson of the Story
As we strive for a living, let us be always honest to our work, to our self, and to other people. Be a Giver. We've got to believe that there'll always reward awaits for someone who did his job well or his life with integrity and honesty. Never cheat to anyone as there will be punishment awaits ahead. Cheater never wins!
Cheers!

Hi, Eleazar, so much wisdom gets passed down from previous generations because they've lived their life stories and want to help guide ours. Thank you for sharing your father's story. I always like to know what other cultures consider important, but the things that really matter always seem to be the same no matter where you go. Best of luck to you in your goals, and thanks for the follow. I've also added you to my network.
Elizabeth
You're more than welcome Elizabeth and thank you for dropping by. You're right, my parents always love sharing stories and wisdom to their kids and I would probably do with mine as well.
Glad to connect with your network.
