It Takes Discipline
Hello everyone, welcome to my first ever blog anywhere on the internet or anywhere else for that matter.
I first joined WA 2 years ago as a free member but got lured away by all those promises of fast bucks by using various secret codes, special software, “you have been specially selected….”, “We can lead you to a six figure income in 30days…..”, etc., I think you all probably know what I mean, and of course all of it was absolute rubbish. I had built a couple of websites back then which when I look at them now makes me shiver with horror, they are that bad, no wonder they did not make any money!
When the Thanksgiving offer came up I came back to WA & had a good look round at all the training and facilities that could be accessed & decided that this was probably going to be the only way to make some success of affiliate marketing so I signed up for Premium membership, this blog and the following ones will be a log of my progress through the training and beyond, and hopefully I will be able to give advice and insights generally along the way as I learn more & more. By the way, a big thank you to everyone who is following me, I feel every confidence that being part of the WA community is going to lead to success.
The first milestone for me was lesson 3 in Getting Started, choosing a niche. This is where the notion of having discipline hit me. I am also learning the Greek language and as I had so many ideas for niches to research I found my Greek lessons were suffering; I was spending a lot of time going through all the various niches that interest me with a view to building websites around them that I would put off my Greek learning for that day. And the next. And the next. And so on. I realised that this could not go on so I have developed a learning rota for myself – Monday & Tuesday Greek, Wednesday & Thursday WA, Friday anything else, Saturday & Sunday Greek or WA depending on where I am in the learning process. This can be a bit flexible but I will stick to it rigidly as much as I can, I think it is important to have some sort of self discipline otherwise you can lose track of things. It would be interesting if anyone else has this sort of strategy or something similar.
I have now arrived (with a website!) at lesson 7 which is keyword research, as this is such an important part of creating your website I think that having the discipline to take the time & effort to do this intensely will pay rewards further down the line, it all comes down to not letting yourself get distracted or sidelined by anything else.

I wrote this blog yesterday (Sunday) & then had to post a question because I did not know what tags were; it is now Monday and I have now broken my rota already to finish this blog! This is what I mean about being "a bit flexible". Ah well, WA tomorrow, Greek Wednesday & Thursday!

Don't beat yourself up. Just one step at a time will do it. Everyone seems to have the same issues you have expressed. At some point I developed a bit of a routine. Good luck with it.

Everyone has their own pace and it's all good. You're right where you're supposed to be. You've learned a lot (as most of us have) and you're much further ahead than you once were. Right?

You are absolutely right, I am much further ahead, I have taken more time to research niches and looking for ideal keywords, I have a better understanding of it all now & feel much more confident moving forwards to success.
