This week I celebrate my one month anniversary of being a Wealthy Affiliate member!!

Yea!! Go Me!!

During the past month I have tried to remember how I came upon WA and affiliate marketing. I just can’t remember all the details of how it happened.

One day I was flipping around the internet, reading email and I stumbled upon a site that had “some young looking guy holding a little dog in his left arm.” It was Nathaniell. I pushed a few buttons and “boom” I was signed up for his on-line course and directed to a website called Wealthy Affiliate.

Up to this point in life, I had never even heard of words like affiliate marketing, long-tail keywords, SEO, plug-ins and all the other jargon that I have been learning about during the past month.

All of this sounded so amazing. I was drawn in by the beautiful, clear, straightforward design of the WA website, the possibilities of niche marketing and of course, the incredible positive attitude of all of the people in the WA community. Oh yes, my sponsor, “the young looking guy holding a little dog in his left arm” also made an impact on me. He filled my head with new ideas and like the rest of y’all in the WA community have done, he actually made it sound like new and exciting things can really happen as an niche/affiliate marketer.

I’m actually beginning to believe all the things I’m reading about and that I can do this!!

After two days of journeying around WA with my free membership I recognized the value of what I was looking at and knew that I wanted to be part of this. So, I signed up for a year membership to become a Premium Member.

I noticed that my ranking at WA was around 265,000 or something like that. I had no idea what that meant. Now, my rank is around 41,000. I still don’t quite know what that means but it has to be good. I’m getting assigned a smaller number.

Anyway, I’m here!!

I’ve selected a niche. I’ve set up a website. I am going through the Online Entrepreneur Course very slowly. I actually reviewed the first course three or four times.

As I mentioned in my profile, I’ve recently retired from a full time vocation and have never had a hobby. NOW, I have a hobby. I’m going to learn how to write articles that will help folks who are searching for “stuff” find it.

And who knows, maybe I’ll make a little spending money along the way so I can take my wonderful wife of 45 years to dinner and the movies.

Who says retirement is boring!!
