Who Are You Really Talking To When You Create?

Hi everyone,

When I first started writing, I made the mistake of not defining my ideal reader. It felt like talking to everyone, but in reality, I was reaching no one.

Things changed once I clearly defined who I wanted to help. From that point on, I knew exactly who I was talking to with every new article. My writing felt more natural, and my message became much more focused.

How about you?

-Who are you really talking to when you create?

-Do you have a clear picture of your ideal reader, or are you still figuring that out?

Thanks for reading,

Dan

Hey Dan, this is such a valuable reminder! I think I have a general idea of my ideal reader, but I could definitely benefit from getting more specific. Thanks for the inspiration to refine my focus!

Hi Merelina, thank you for your comment. I am glad I could help. I believe it is one of the key things for the success of a business.

You're welcome! I agree completely, that key thing makes all the difference.

I think a lot of us make the mistake of trying to speak to everyone and help everyone but reach no one.
The best is to shift your mind to think "who do I serve?" When you answer that question you find your ideal client.

Thanks for the article.

Hi Uthny, thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right, it is very important to be as specific as possible when it comes to our ideal client.

Hi, thank you for that helpful insight . I know my ideal reader. But my questions is how can I get in touch with them and where I can best find them. My niche is about Mindfulness and meditation..

2

Think about "Who do you serve?" Try to answer the question by considering Who would most benefit from your niche.

Now answer it in 31 words or less. Include what problem your product will solve and three (3) benefits your ideal client will get. This should narrow it down to a specific person.

When you write speak as though you are speaking to that person only.

Only write to a specific person, not everyone or too many people.

To Your Success Always.
