Did You Worry How Your Niche Would Make Money When You Started?

When we start building our business, one of the most confusing hurdles to jump is figuring out how to monetize. We can write content and get traffic, but we can often feel lost when it comes to the basic mechanics of turning traffic into commissions.

I experienced that with my golf balls blog when I started placing my first affiliate links.

I was dropping links way too early in my articles. Worse than that, the articles I was putting those links into did not bring much real value to the reader. In my mind, I just needed to get the links out there. But in reality, there was a complete disconnect between what the reader needed and what I was offering.

It wasn't until later, when I changed my approach and started doing genuine, structured product reviews, that those links started bringing in some revenue. That is when I finally got the proof that the monetization mechanics only work when value and trust come first.
