Hi everyone,
As creators, we spend a lot of time researching and learning about our niches. But sometimes, that deep knowledge becomes a trap, and without realizing it, we start overcomplicating our writing.
I definitely did this in the past with my golf site. I would write about things like golf ball aerodynamics or the specific materials used in manufacturing, and the language would quickly become too technical.
Sometimes I would catch the mistake on my second or third read-through, but there were plenty of times when I only noticed the article was way too complex after I had already hit publish.

Eventually, I learned to step back and present those ideas in a much simpler manner. If a topic genuinely required a thorough, expert-level breakdown, I would just create a hyperlink leading to a separate page.
That way, the main article stayed clean and easy to read, and anyone who wanted to dive deeper into the technical details could just click the link.
How about you?
Did you ever notice you used overcomplicated language in your articles?
How do you make sure you aren't sounding too technical for your everyday readers?
Thanks for reading,
Dan
