Rome wasn't built in a day.
...and neither was my website! Finally decided on my niche which was kind of staring me in the face all along! The clues were in my profile and also my last blog. Personal development and life skills for professional women. I've been working to the point of exhaustion both in and outside of my day job, so tonight's blog will be short. I just wanted to touch base with this wonderful community and share, what I believe, to be my first success.
I've decided on my niche after very significant levels of procrastination. If you are afflicted in the same way as a new WA member, please don't be hard on yourself. I believe it is important to take your time and go with what ultimately feels right for you. After all, this is about making money from your passion. It needs to feel 'right' as you will be focusing on this for some time, so trust your instincts.
I believe I can now create a strong brand which I can use to market my website and drive traffic not just through my content, but also through social media. I have a long way to go, but the foundations are being well laid. Rome definitely wasn't built in a day....
Good night
Ruth

Believe it or not, Ruth, picking your niche is one of the biggest hurtles. Almost like the floodgates opening wide.
It certainly seems that way Dick. I'm busying away at the website now. Can't wait to get it to where it needs to be. I've a couple of other niches in reserve - promise to focus on this one first though. Take care

I think many of us experience some procrastination before finally making a choice. Taking that decision about what really feels right to you is the first important step.
Good to see progress for you. Your previous tribulation (good Roman word) is not uncommon. I was bogged down for a considerable while. Larry

Well done, Ruth! Before you even build a foundation for a house, you must put careful study into the home's location. If you just jump into the first niche' that comes to mind, then build the website...and then find that you have nothing to blog about...you've wasted a lot of time and money.
Sounds like you're off and running now. Keep us all posted.

Will do Dennis. I'm sure I'll have plenty more stories to tell here and I'll be looking more guidance! Thank you for all the support and comments so far. I really appreciate them. All the best
