Walmart has agreed to buy Jet.com for about $3 billion in cash and another $300 million in stock to sweeten the pot. Walmart is hoping to beef up their on-line presence with the acquisition, and grab a piece of Amazon's market which is about $100 billion a year.
Jet.com made their debut in July 2015. If you live in the U.S. I am sure you have seen the commercial with the top of peoples head blowing off in a purple cloud in amazement at the savings.
Jet.com CEO, Marc Lore has experience selling his startup businesses to larger companies. In 2010 he sold Diapers.com to Amazon for $500 million.
Walmart's Affiliate Program

Walmart.com has a great affiliate program that has all the same bells and whistles as Amazon. They also have a WordPress Plugin. Walmart has recently launched their "Shipping Pass" program to rival Amazon's "Prime".

One of the drawbacks for Walmart is their shipping policies. Walmart only ships to:
- The 50 U.S. states
- APO / FPO military addresses
- American Samoa
- Guam
- Northern Mariana Islands
- Puerto Rico
- U.S. Virgin Islands
International shipping can be accomplished with USgobuy.com.
The Walmart Affiliate Program is well worth the time to investigate if you are targeting a U.S. customer base.
