Goals, Dreams and Vision

It is important that in any endeavor we keep our mind set on our goals. It is also very important to have a vision. Although goals are more specific we need to have a vision which is more like a bigger picture, if you will. From that overall vision we can then 'fill in the details' with goals which is really about the 'hows' and 'whens' in implementing our vision.

For most people the overall vision is to better themselves and their families financially and in other ways. How and at what pace this is accomplished depends on a myriad of factors. For instance, one decides to start their business online and with WA it affords an opportunity to do so with little or no investment. Of course to make things happen it takes effort, time and finances but compared to traditional businesses the advantages are huge. But each individual must decide what is best for them in terms of implementation. Some can achieve their goals more quickly than others because they may have more time and more money. But the fundamentals remain the same. In any business, including an online one, basic business principles apply.

So find your vision write it down big and bold and keep it in front of you always, in a prominent place where you see it always as a reminder. And then go ahead and look at your resources and start to write your plan or goals to accomplish this vision. And be specific even if it means putting things down on paper or on a tablet every day. Sometimes the major hindrance to our success is all about how we manage our time, money and efforts and we will discuss these in a little more detail in the future.

One last thing I would like to highlight is the fact that many of us may have our goals determined by the necessity to meet financial obligations daily. And this of course we make a priority. But we can also have goals that are little more long-term and may seem insignificant to others. As an example, you can take a look at my picture here. Most will not recognize this vehicle except if they are or have lived 'Down Under'. The car is a brand named Holden and was made by GM in Australia. So why do I bring this up? Well, this car belonged to my dad and he had it for quite a number of years. He died about a year and a half ago a few months shy of his 96th birthday.

My dad had a sentimental attachment to that car and it seems it has been passed on to me. Now while I want to improve my finances to address some more pressing concerns I have as a long term goal the restoration of this car to mint condition. Yes, it will take some time, probably a good deal of money and some may question the value of doing this at all but it is important to me and to the memory of my dad. And there is nothing wrong with having these types of goals also as part of your big vision as long as you place priorities on the more important things and do not lose sight of the balance needed in your life.

So again cheers to your success and start writing things down as pertains to your vision and goals and yes, dream on because the 'dream' part is just about making sure your mind is set and steady on your vision and goals.
