Indexed: First Page. Top Three.
Ah, the bittersweet sensation of first page indexes. Back again.
Yes, it is truely bittersweet. Why? Well, it has become obvious that getting blog posts and/or articles ranked high on Google does not necessarily convert into sales. This is a topic that I've come across before and yet only now has this reality hit home. There is a big difference between intellectualizing a thing and internalizing a thing. Taking action while being alert and aware throughout the process is the best way to internalize a thing. Experience through action gives you a first-hand account of a matter and is far more valuable than any second hand information anyone throws your way. Even accurate second-hand information can only be intellectualized until it is personally put into use.
What does this have to do with anything and why is this important? Well I now know how to get indexed quickly, because I've done it. I know how to get the top spots, because I've done it. I know how to get found. These top spots have yet to convert into sales, however. This situation immediately revealed my next courses of study, training, and action.
1. Focused and Targeted Content ( in two whole weeks i never asked the question, 'who exactly am i marketing to?' i hope that's a common rookie mistake and it's not just me)
2. Traffic! Traffic! Traffic! ( apparently there's a lot more to getting traffic to your affiliate site than just getting indexed)
3. Product profitability. ( put simply, am i just marketing a bad product and is this product financially worth the time to market?)
BTW, I just noticed today that my efforts gained me first page, top three listing spots on Google. Again. And it was a pretty specific keyword(s), so I may be jumping the gun a bit. Hopefully tomorrow will bring some sales.

I have definitely learned that targeted traffic is very important. Getting loads of traffic is great. But if that traffic is not interested in the product it pretty much defeats the purpose. Keep us posted and good luck!
I think I get what you're saying. When you're intellectualizing some information you can't put it to use. But when it's internalized it becomes your own and you can use it. That's how I choose to see it.

I'm now in the process of becoming an accredited article marketer. I'm confident that this will help in developing much more targeted campaigns. I'll definitely keep you posted.
