Howdy everyone. I am writing this because of how dissapointed i am with health care systems, and when its crunch time to send your loved ones into a nursing home, you are at the mercy of where they send them if you dont have millians of dollare at your disposal. I dont understand why its such a broken system, and if you dont seek the advice of financial professionals,, it also makes the process mission imposible.

It's hard enough dealing with losing your dad to such a horible disease, without worrying about the financial mess that goes along with it. Dad was on a waiting list for exercise routines. This was 6 months ago, and has declined isnce then. Apparently, you have to go through the government. You cannot send him anywhee else. I thought, ( WHAT THE) Surely we could have sent him somewhere else that would actually care about him. Well done once again Government.. If there is anyone here on W.A who have gone through, or are going through the same situation as me, or if you wish to comment, please do. I welcome everybodys feedback . Thankyou.

You are dealing with a tough situation. I hope you find an answer.

Our senior living state-wide organization called the Pioneer Home has taken care of this problem for our seniors. They have one building in their Anchorage facility that is strictly for dementia patients. Hope I never have to go there...though I have put my name on the Pioneer Home waiting list...I just renew it every year, so if I need the facility it will be available. Good system.

Thankyou

I'm sorry to have learned that your dad has Dementia friend. May I suggest that you do more research on magnesium L-threonate (MgT)? Magnesium generally is being consumed way below the recommended daily allowance. It is responsible for over 300 benefits of the body. The kind of magnesium above is responsible for brain functions such as memory, alertness, etc.
Combine that with resistance exercise and the brain will function a lot better. I'm not a doctor, but I study nutritional and how it can aid the body to function better. Most people ignore the necessary minerals for proper body functioning. Our bodies don't need lab medicines, we need whole vitamins and minerals to be healthy. All the best!

🙏🙏 for you and your father, Doug!

Hi Doug,
I am so very sorry to hear that your dad has dementia and the nightmare health system that seems to be surrounding the process of getting him the care he needs. It really is a tragedy.

Take care of yourself Doug.

All the best,

Michael

Thankyou so much Micheal.

You are very welcome Doug.

All the best,

Michael

Dementia can be very traumatic. In severe cases the person can revert to being almost baby like. Unable to read write or in some instancres forget how to eat. They cannot recognise who you are and can exhbit behavuour which can be both aggressive and depressive. Suspicion of everyone can also run high. If testing is available take it to determine extent of problem . There are meds to slow down observation.

Hope this helps a little
Hugh
