My Seven Week Review
Hello WA family! Tomorrow will be my 7th week anniversary here at WA. In that span, I have created and trashed a website,created and kept a second website, lost some sleep, obsessed over learning wordpress,
cussed out my computer, questioned my intelligence and discovered a few newgray hairs. What a fun ride!
I have learned more about the internet in the past few weeks than I did in the past 12 years. I never
in a million years thought I would be able to create my own website that people would actually visit. I am on the first page, first position with 4 different keyword phrases and on the first page in various positions with several other phrases. I have only been on google analytics for 9 days but in that time I am averaging 16
visits a day. I am a long way from having “real” traffic but I am excited about how far I have come.
I have had several comments telling me how the information on my site has helped that particular visitor and I am getting a lot of different page views. I feel my content is heart –felt and I am trying to keep my focus on the content and not the money. I would be lying if I said I was not here to make money, but being here has made me revisit my passion of wanting to help others. I feel that helping others should be my priority and if the money follows, all the better!
None of this would have been possible without WA and all of the help I have received within the community.Whether a person has been here for years or days I find I get help from you all. The veterans help me with answers to my questions and the newbies (like myself) ask questions I may not have thought to ask. Kyle is constantly posting new training and the top guys follow his lead. I am grateful to all of you!

I've liked this quote by GK Chesterton from the day I read it. Doing something badly is at least doing something productive, if what you're doing is the right thing to do. It's better than not attempting something at all. At least you will learn from your efforts. All of the most important things we learned to do we started out doing them badly, like walking, talking, singing, dancing and riding a bicycle. You improve as you go. You cannot improve until you start. You begin by starting out badly. You have to be willing to fail, sometimes often, to achieve what you want to. So if you decide to do something, anything, be prepared to start out by doing it badly. If you wait until you can do something perfectly you'll do nothing at all.
Your response fits right into the theme of my site. I have a blog about learning to fail big. I honestly do not know whether you are telling me "job well done" or "good job on doing a horrible job" Either way you took the time to look over my site and I thank you for doing so!
I noticed I misspelled Quote several times! Thanks for the feedback. When you stare at words long enough it is easy to forget how to spell. Missing simple things like the difference between there and their become easy to miss as well. I will try to do more editing this week. Again, thank you for pointing this out!
I know. I've found misspelled words in documents I wrote ages ago when re-writing them for other purposes. If I remember correctly, copy editors sometimes read the work backwards to pick up errors.

Did you do it all by yourself ?
And by using only a free theme and free stuff ?
Or did you invest some extra money in the design etc.

All free. all by myself. It has been a hard road but I have gotten plenty of help along the way from Wa

I think the site looks really good and you did a fantastic job. I love the fonts that you have decided to use. I also love the fact that you are using bullet points instead of long winded paragraphs. People skim the net. Bullet points are a great way to quickly get your message across and keep your viewers interested. Nice job on that.
On the one hand, I really like the picture. On the other hand, it takes up the entire fold so you may not be optimizing for sales. However, I would encourage you to split test this with another version of your page and see which works better. In other words, don't abandon your idea. Measure how the current version converts and then try some variation where the picture is say 1/2 the height, or try no picture at all. Just make sure you make copies of all the variations. Track and see where your conversions are the best and run with that.
