I have written several articles on Streetarticles but have yet to have any feedback. I was hoping my WA family could read a few and tell me what you think(the good and the bad)

http://www.streetarticles.com/empowerment/our-responses-dictate-our-outcomes this is the link to my latest article. Thank you WA family for all that you do!

Hope it is okay, I read and clicked like on your site. Because I really did! Perception, 9/10ths of the law of mental dynamics. Since am not registered, can't comment. May do an SA someday but life is filled with WA, my sites, teaching and white paper. (note #1 listed). Be sure and link to your site if applicable. ^_~

Let you a comment :) Good article, by the way.

I'm sorry, I haven't had the chance to read the article properly as my connection is very slow at the moment but I am concerned generally that a lot of members seem to be spending a lot of time with SA. As far as I understand it, the main purpose of our being here is to run a successful website which will earn us a decent living, and I can't see SA doing that.

Even if your article ranks you are then hoping that people will read through it and click on any links to take them to your website or product, then they are going to have to start reading again before they get anywhere near clicking on anything that is going to lead to a sale.

I may be completely wrong but things like SA, posting on forums and all those other things you can do are not going to get you very much traffic in the greater scheme of things and even less sales. They may be the source of a few extra visits but surely the vast majority of your potential customers are going to come from a Google search that takes them directly to your website?

I personally think it makes much more sense to concentrate on putting decent content and keywords directly onto your website. I briefly read the article, clicked the two links right at the bottom which took me to another article (on your website) and by the time I reached the foot of that page and had a quick look around the site I still have not found anything that is available to purchase. I'm not quite sure what your aim is but what is the point of it all? How is all of that going to make you any money?

Thank you! You didn't find anything to buy because there is nothing to buy yet. I am working on getting affiliates. I am having a little more trouble doing it than I was expecting. Also I am in the process of revamping the site a bit. After reading the remarks on here about my articles, I gave my site another look and found that the site looked like one long paragraph. I am trying to add a few more breaks and bullet points. I definitely want to make money from my site, but it doesn't have to happen tomorrow. I am more concerned with creating, what I feel, is a site with good information that can help people. What I write about is not for everyone and some will dismiss it as "fluff" I could care less. Those are not the people I am trying to help. I hope this explains the point of it all!

Yes I understand your point but you are not going to get any affiliates until you start placing links and banners on there. I personally think that it is better to get the "meat" on the site as soon as possible, the stuff that is going to earn you an income, and concentrate on improving the content as you go.

Just my opinion of course, but my comments were meant to point out that a lot of people seem to be spending a lot of time on SA and in my opinion it's never going to earn them very much. Of course somebody may come along and prove me completely wrong but that's the way I see it.

coolcity I will always except and enjoy comments left for me. I may also be asking you for advise when I start adding banners and placing links. Thanks again for the feedback!

You are welcome. I wasn't particularly "targeting" you but I feel that a lot of people are being sidetracked with SA (and indeed with WA) rather than spending the bulk of their spare time on their websites and in particular, doing what needs to be done to monetize them.

For example I noted yet another complaint over the weekend from a member who had been here a month, blogged 36 (yes THIRTY-SIX times), done a list of articles on SA and then complained he wasn't getting anywhere with his website!!! I think a lot of people are falling into the same trap, albeit not to the same extent. SA is good for article writing practice in my opinion but I personally would not want to spend a lot of time on something that is only ever likely to get a tiny percentage of visitors to my website. It just doesn't make sense.

SA used to actually get enough traffic to be worth writing for. Not so much anymore. That`s the reason why It`s not really worth it anymore. Better off spending your time building your on-site content like coolcity said. BTW I`m ranked number 1 on street articles I wrote so much.. after 100 articles in a month I only have about 110 clickthroughs. It`s simply better to spend time on your site.

Hi Aaron, I enjoyed your article. I appreciate your interest in what you wrote about.

I like to add a picture to whatever I write. It tends to draw people to the page, well it draws me to the page! When I am reading a book, I have to admit that I get more enjoyment with one that has pictures. Our minds thinks in pictures and maybe that's why I like to see one or two.

I also like to use bolded sub headers for each area of the article I'm writing about - other than that directly under the heading. Think of it as the equivalent to reading a book. Eg Chapter 1 How it all began, chapter 2 what happened next (the heart of your article) and chapter 3 the conclusion (the summary of what your article is about or perhaps the last summary of thoughts on the topic.) Obviously you can have as many headers as are required.

If there is a big "chunk" of reading (not saying your article is by the way) some people are lazy and think "too much hard work to read this". Bolded sub headers and a picture just make the page look more appealing.

The other members have given you some good advice. Use your personality and style when you write (which you have) but lay it out to suit your readers. Difficult for all of us starting out so don't be disheartened.

I have to say that choppydo's remarks were something that I was thinking as well. Maybe bold some of your words in the paragraphs. Break it up a bit. He took the words out of my mouth! Good job.

If I type the name of my article(responses dictate our outcomes) into google without " it is on the first page 2nd on the list. Not to sound stupid, I am new to all of this, but that is the result I am looking for isn't it?

In Google, as with most search engines, "personalisation" and "localisation" play a big part in the ordering of results, so always use an Incognito Tab in Chrome which will avoid "personalisation" to some degree. I make it fifth place, first page on Google .com http://d.pr/i/rr0A Congrats! :) Rich.

I left some feedback for you. Also, choppydo has some good recommendations. I always like to give a person a breather by breaking things up with headings.

I responded to your feedback on Streetarticles. Thank you for the comments. Good stuff!

Ok a few pointers:
-use mini headings in bold break up your story
-use smaller, bite-sized paragraphs
-Make your links ovious

On that last one- you have to let your audience know what`s on the other side of the link. "positive way" and "results" don`t really do it for me. Results is close but you should make a more specific promise.eg: "these methods" "the proven formula" "the right way" ... see what I`m getting at here?

And one last, important thing= SA is out! It simply doesn`t rank anymore. Both Kyle and Carson have told me that I am better off putting 95-100% of my content onto my website. You should follow suit. This way, you can actually get rankings and search traffic via a more direct route since SA doesn`t work anymore anyways.

Great advice. I often wondered if I should "waste" content on SA that I couldn't put into my site. You just gave me my answer. Thank you sir!

That's weird because my article have still been ranking pretty good. lol.

Really? What`s the keyword?

one of them is "spending money will make you rich" in Google you have to use the quotes, in bing do not.

Actually I just looked, if you do quotes in Bing as well, I have 3 of the 4 results as mine

And Google I have the top 2.

Well I`ll be! It really is ranked and by the looks of it in just 10 days! Now I don`t know what to think... Although, none of my 100 articles have ranked even after a full month. And according to Carson and Kyle, SA doesn`t rank anymore...Ohhhhhh a qsr of 5 well no wonder!

But ya in light of this, I still have to say that you`re better off putting content onto your actual site.

Well and also you have said so yourself that you were going for quantity not quality. You were just pumping as many out as you can.

I was going for quality more, that might also be a factor.

And obviously Kyle and Carson were wrong about SA not ranking anymore. Maybe the majority of them don't rank?

And that article from SA actually ranked number one on both Bing and Google only after about a few days. It wasn't actually posted on the 8th, it was the last part of June. And has been ranked for a while. I even wrote a blog about it, OMG I did NOT realize this happened but SO GLAD IT DID!!!, although that was a while ago and is now down.

I WAS going for quantity at first. Later on I slowed down and did get a reaction in terms of views and click-throughs. But nevertheless, none of my articles are ranked(atleast to my knowledge)

There`s an easier way, eh? Go comment on some other peoples articles and follow them. It`s common courtesy to get a comment back.

I must admit, I have been a little self absorbed. However in the last few days I have been trying to comment on more peoples work and contribute to their growth and development. Good job keeping me "working for the team"

I started doing this a few days ago, and it is helping alot.
