Whew, My First Video! So Exhausting.

I was only planning to blog about keyword research, but decided to do video anyway because after all, showing something is more powerful than just telling something. So I started planning on the video.

The Only Problem

It's my first time! Heck, I don't know anything about videos except for the training I received from Jay's Live Classes. I never had a hands-on experience with creating one in my entire life. So I really expect that it will suck in many ways.

So I decided to do a screencast, but I did not speak in the video because of too much noise around me. I used background music instead, and I found out that YouTube has lots of free audio from its library, so it's a relief.

So What Happened?

The following events describe what I've gone through while doing my first ever video:

1. I planned my blog post ALONG with my video to make sure the message is consistent all throughout.

2. I focused on the precise details of how I'm supposed to film the screencast such as which tools to use for keyword research, recording software, video editor, and Powerpoint presentation.

3. I finished the article right away, but the video was still left unfinished and still in the blueprint.

4. I had ample time but used some to procrastinate.

5. I had to rehearse numerous times to get the recording right.

6. If ever something got past through, that's where editing comes into action (although not everything was furnished).

7. I admit I was rushing to finish this video (I did not focus on the quality)

8. I stumbled upon YouTube's Video Manager, which is another learning curve. Unfortunately, I abandoned my Windows Movie Maker tool for this video.

9. I did not speak, but I worked on adding slides and captions to the entire video.

10. My visualization skills and resourcefulness were put to the test.

11. I retained more knowledge while doing the video than in just typing the article.

12. I underestimated the amount of time and effort it takes to create the video (much like working in the backstage)

13. Again, I got reminded of the power of FOCUS on one thing.

14. I was thrilled to finish this all the way and I never plan to give up.

15. There's so much more! I literally couldn't explain everything!

And Finally, It's Done!

So what happened in all of this? After working very hard and keeping my focus, I've just finished a 14-minute video. Whew, it was really exhausting!

Don't expect it to be good because it's my first time. But if you're interested, then check out my video below.

Overall, it's a great milestone for me especially in my Internet Marketing career. Well the truth is, I'm not yet making any income but I'm sure it will come. So what can you say about my progress?

Great video! Thank you for sharing!

Wow. Congratulations. It's really a milestone.

Thanks Ruperto. This is just the beginning and I'm very excited.

Next version should get lessons learned smoother. Good job!

Okay Michael, I'll do what you said. Thanks!

I didn't watch the whole video because it's a little long and I have a short attention span. I think the title of the video is good. But if you're going to have a 14-minute video, it needs to have more variation. Next time, you should also speak instead of non-stop background music.

Yeah, I've got to find a place that is noise-free and invest in a microphone as well. Actually, my aim was to put it in under 5-minutes. I guess I'm still not good at compressing the key points.

Awesome progress, Dominic. Congrats!

Thanks Tessa I'm so excited to create more soon, including a WA video review :)

Go for it!
