Colouring your World!
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm not usually one to blog but I feel my insight may help a few beginners when fabricating websites. I know a few people fall into a fit fall or 2 when they first begin their journeys on creating websites, the main one been inappropriate colouring for websites.
I know it may seem trivial but we all have our own inbuilt internet 'fight or flight' response, when we see a website that looks like a harlequin in a blender it can put some people of exploring - This is just terrible for business, we want them here!
A few will look at this and see nothing but trivial basics, this isn't for you - This is aimed at a few people who really might struggle with that initial theme. The general assumption is with ideal placement you can draw attention to certain areas of your website, logo or banner - Universally colours are said to invoke emotions, this can be tied into your product to help set the mood well before the potential customer begins to explore your content.
Black - Formality and sophistication,
Ideal if you are aiming for a more classy feel.
White - Purity, innocence and sterility, can be interwoven with any colour and can be used for 'framing' areas of interest.
Red - Love, warmth, comfort or alternatively intensity, anger, excitement and sexuality.
ideal for adult websites or ones based around exhilarating subjects.
Blue - Men, calmness, order and serenity,
Ideal for tech sites, spirituality & financial services
Green - Nature, health, fertility and jealousy, ideal for health products/food, meditation & yoga.
Yellow - Warm and Cheery or frustration and caution,
This is an odd colour as it can be used for a variety of sites although excessive use with cause 'eye fatigue' so use sparingly or for highlighting content.
Purple - Royalty, wealth, spirituality, exotic and special,
Works well with a multitude of sites, particularly adult, Upper class, Exotic (Spices) & financial services.
Brown - Nature, Strength, comfort and Security
Ideal for Animals & Outdoor sports/activites.
Orange - Excitement, enthusiasm and warmth
Ideal for Outdoor activities such as camping & highlighting content
Pink - Women, love, romance, calmness and youth.
Ideal for Womens/babies clothing/information but different shades can deal different effects.
This list, although crude and short does highlight some ideal points for colour usage in websites. If you have any query's, follow ups, disagreements or additions I would love to hear from you! Hopefully I can keep expanding this to ensure that we all may benefit from it in the future.
- Damion :)

Thanks for sharing great information.
You're most welcome, I was worried it would be regarded as too generic
