I'm new here at Wealthy Affiliate. I'm a bit nervous and excited at the same time. I don't want to get my hopes up too much. But at the same time, something inside me wants to shoot for the moon.
Before joining, I took a long survey of my life. I reflected back on some old advice my late father gave me:
Son, always try. By not trying, you've already failed.

Looking back, he saw that I had an aversion to taking chances and wanted to plant that seed in me.
Before I joined WA, I read a blog written by a self-proclaimed perfectionist. In her writing, she echoed the same sentiment as my dad's advice. She shared the story of how a child once failed at rock climbing. Over and over the little girl tried to scale the wall, but couldn't get off the ground. But when she ran back to her mom, she couldn't help but show excitement! She was happy that she tried! To her, that meant she could actually do it next time!
So here I am-- the blog I read inspired me to take my dad's advice. I'm gonna give "trying" a try for once.
Like many people who start, I'm stuck on what niche to use. But as the training videos say so far, your niche doesn't have to be perfect.
Perfectionism is often why I don't try.
Time to change that. Here's to trying!
