in order to be successful, how often should you write posts/content for your niche?

As a rule, post 3-4 times a week for the first few months. Then you can ease off a bit.

Once a site is established then the frequency doesn't matter as much.

But initially Google wants to see that you are serious about building a site and keeping it running. If you put up a few pages and then stop or just post a short 500 word article every couple of weeks, Google knows that this isn't the type of authoritative site that people searching for info will be looking for - so it isnt going to rank your site when others are making more of an effort and providing more and better content.

Once you've proven to Big G that you are serious about building the site, then it's easier.
Some people will continue with weekly postings.
Some people just post once a month - but they post very informative, detailed content.
Others just update the site every few months and find that it stays near the top of search results with no real effort.

There isn't one rule that's guaranteed to work for all sites.

Thank you for the feedback. I can definitely handle the 3-4 times a week. I will need to learn how to structure the content but thats what I have WA for!
