All work and no play makes me.fail at WA

Hello, let me explain this a little, I have actually had to take a step back from WA, or risk failing all together, now the reason for this is simple and a mistake of my own making. I currently work 40 hours a week at my lovely dead end job of Walmart, additionally I was taking some online courses for web, app and game development, along with trying to learn a new language, this was all before WA. When I learned about WA, I saw it as an opportunity to get out of my current job and start living the life I want to live, along with freeing up time to do the things I want to do.

So with those thoughts in mind I signed up for WA, which quickly consumed my time, in the span of a month had had put my online courses on hold, and paused my language learning to focus solely on WA, now cost wise it didn't matter, i own the language software and paid for the courses in advance and was working on them on my own time there was no set schedule, like the training here at WA. So my life was consumed by WA by my own choice of course, this mistake is clearly my fault and I blame no one but me, anyway before long I was using every spare minute of my day to work on my site, even at my other job, I would be constantly thinking about content for my site along with the layout and structure, I would even spend my breaks writing out my content for my site, all because I wanted this to work, to become my main source of income.

All this had led to another problem, and those who have seen my site know what that is, my site is huge, 19 pages an counting, an most of those don't even have content yet, and of those that do only a few are actually done, which only adds to the problem as I try to fill in all the pages, don't get me wrong I like the way it looks and it will be great and a little easier once all the base content is in but it is still a big project.

HOWEVER...this is not a resignation or surrender, this is a retreat, a step back, a means to slow down and rework a few things, settle in for a long haul rather than try to make this work as quickly as possible. So this is my advice to anyone who reads this, don't make the same mistakes I did, balance your time wisely, treat this as a second job, if that is what you are working for, like me, don't spend all day at one job just to come home and spend all your free time working on your second job (WA) spend some time doing something fun, watch TV, See a movie, hang out with friends, and remember that when trying to do something like WA to settle in for the long haul and not expect to make a profit right away.

So that is my very long rant about how i screwed up, I hope my advice can help those who read it not to make the same mistakes I did.

Hey, Daniel! I have completed 1 week of WA yesterday. I also found myself spending A LOT of time working on my website, maybe 3-4 hours a day on top of my 8 hour work routine. My wife is definitely not happy with this :-) It's good that you are chilling out. Sometimes people who are very driven face these types of issues, but sit back, relax a bit, and let time work its magic. You don't have to to it all in a day - the internet is still going to be here in a day, a week or a month. Just work on your content progressively and things will start to happen (at least this is what I am telling myself).
