Google Webmaster Tools

A couple of weeks ago, I was learning how to check the speed and stats of my website. This required me to verify my site, which I chose to do through Google.

This was a bit of a challenge and one of the things I ended up doing to try to accomplish this was install a plug-in called Google Webmaster Tools. Apparently I didn't even need it since I have All in One SEO, which has a field to type your verification code (and if you are looking to enter your verification code this way, make sure to enter ONLY the code and not the meta tag info).

Anyway, after finally figuring out how to verify my site, I had something at the top of my page saying to enter my Google webmaster code here. A few people from the WA community had tried to help me get rid of it but I still couldn't. Then I finally figured it out (YAY!!) It was really simple actually. I went to my dashboard and went to Google Webmaster Tools and there it was - that stupid text at the top of my page I couldn't seem to find anywhere in the css code. So I deleted it and saved changes and wala! All gone!

So if you have a plug-in called Google Webmaster Tools AND All in One SEO, get rid of GWT because you don't need it. If you don't want to get rid of it for whatever reason and had the same problem I did, well now you know how to solve it.

Awesomeness

I went through the same thing. So frustrating until you finally see and get it right with All in One.
