Using PPC to generate traffic - Bad Idea?

Published on Wealthy Affiliate — a platform for building real online businesses with modern training and AI.

I recently joined Clixsense Pay Per Click program hopping to get more traffic on my site. I'm not interested in participating in the viewing of sites, I just wanted to advertise my own site. This was a big waste of time and money.

Although I did get a lot more hits, my bounce rate was over 90% every day I used it. This means that people just had it open for the required time (15 to 30 seconds) and left without reading anything.

I realized that people who joined Clixsense are extremely poor. I figured that the average hourly rate for viewing ads is around $1.20 per hour (.005 cents per 15 second view). Therefore there is no way they could afford to purchase my products.

I was wondering if anyone has had any good luck with PPC's and which ones work.

Thanks, Dan
