I wrote a product review last year and now there is an update to the 2020 version. Almost everything is the same except for "2020" instead of "2019" in the product title. Sho
Hello debbie, I would reccomend an update.
It's easier for you to do it and you keep your content updated.
Hope it helped,
Pompeu.
I'll do what you suggested. Thank you so much for responding. Your help is much appreciated.
Thank you again,
Debbie
This is a really timely question for me. I've been wondering the same. The answer from Pompeu is really helpful
Im in the process of updating pages that had too much duplication from my blog roll as I turned them into pages. I am doing major updates.
And on a daily basis Im updating statistics to do with Covid 19 on a blog I did in early Feb:
www.whyspirulina.com
Today I plan to do another major update. I also check SEO when I do this.
Im not sure if these comments help. But its what I thought I ought to do - particularly to delete duplication.
Best Regards,
Trevor
Perfect, thank you for your input. Yes, I was worried about duplication as well. Just finished updating.
Thank you again,
Debbie
Glad to help!
It helps indeed in terms of SEO update content, though it's wise to find a good balance between creating and updating, specially in the beginning I find that quantity it's important, not only to the website's growth but to develop your writing style and skills.
Sound advice, I think this makes a lot of sense. I feel I have progressed a lot in terms of my creative writing skills, particularly when I look back to old posts!
Have a great week ahead.

Should I update current post or write a new one?

Hi Debbie, I would go ahead and update the article. I do not see the need to rewrite it. After updating it I would recommend you put it through Googles URL and have it re-indexed.
Best wishes,
Michael
Hi Michael,
Thank you for responding. I will be sure to put it through Google URL - thanks for the suggestion.
Enjoy your weekend and thank you again,

I have changed the title of a post before. After updating the post, I updated my sitemap, then went to google search console and submitted the url requesting indexing. It seemed to do the trick.
