Nurture Your Dream Like a Bamboo Tree!
Do you know how the bamboo tree grows?
The giant bamboo has a particularly hard seed. It is so hard that to grow the bamboo tree you must water, fertilize and nurture that seed every day for four years before any portion of it breaks the soil.. And then in the fifth year, the tree shows itself.
But the amazing thing is that once it breaks the surface, this bamboo plant, like many of the species is capable of growing at rates as fast as four feet a day to a height of ninety feet in less than a month.
You can practically stand there and watch it grow.
Now, my question to you is, "Did the bamboo tree grow ninety feet in under a month or it grows over five years?" The answer is simple. Over five years, of course.
So you see, if you were the person planting that bamboo tree and you had stopped watering or fertilizing and nurturing that seed at any point, that tree would have died immediately.

Most people do not realize that if they did not see instant results, they too have to continue to water, fertilize and nurture their dreams. There is no other way around it. No shortcuts, otherwise it would not materialize.
But many people become discouraged and impatient and walked away from their dreams just as they are about to spring and come out into this world.
It is sad to say that eventually, their dreams die. Just be persistent and work diligently and it doesn't matter if you don't see it yet. Your time will come if you have the patience to wait for it.

It has been said that the richest place in the world is the graveyard. Why? Because most people died with their dreams buried with them and not being realized.
Are you going to be one of them? I sure hope not. Yes, it takes a lot of patience and perseverance. It is going to test you and your attitude in life. You will meet so many trials and tribulations.
Most of the time you feel like giving up as you don't think it is going to happen for you. Sometimes it takes much longer than you anticipated.
The Olympic First Triathlete Gold medalist, Flora Duffy from Bermuda took 20 years for her dream to come true and with a lot of pain and struggles to the point where she could not even walk because of injury.
Thus she felt that she lost her hope of even trying.
But she persisted time and time again, going through a lot of agony, distress, and almost giving up. What if she did? She would not have achieved her long-time dream of being an Olympic first-ever Gold medalist as a triathlete from Bermuda.
What about you?
- Are you ready to give up your childhood dream too?
- Are you feeling so disappointed that nothing seemed to work for you?
- Do you feel that everything is against you?
- Are you feeling sorry for yourself and having a pity party that you think nobody really cares about you?
- Are you ready to throw in the towel?
My dear, if you are reading this... please... stop. You are not alone. Seriously. Right now you are still so blessed.
- You are alive and I'm sure well enough.
- You are equipped with tools that you can use to even read this blog post.
- Most likely you have family and friends around you and willing to be with you and support you in accomplishing your dream.
- You are supplied with a home to live in, clothes on your back, and food on your table.

Stop moaning and groaning and complaining.
Enjoy your life and be thankful and grateful for your amazing and wonderful life.
Thank you so much, my WA family, and one thing I'd like to leave with you and do remember this all the time,
DO NOT LET ANYBODY STEAL YOUR DREAM!
God bless you all and your dreams.
I love you all dearly.
Elizabeth

Hi Queen Elizabeth of blogging and indexation. You have once again posted a great blog. It is full of metaphor and rich comparisons. The comparison between a bamboo tree and our dream is a good one. So we care for our dream and work hard for realising it, like we care for a bamboo tree to grow to a height of ninety feet.
We should insist and persist with our planning and hard work until we reach the desired result.
I have too much liked the following sentence from your blog:"Your time will come if you have the patience to wait for it."
Thanks for the sharing.
Abdenbi
Well, my dear Abdenbi,
You finally revealed your name
and I preferred it that way. You
have such a unique and such a
beautiful name.
Is that Moroccan?
Thank you so much for your kind
and heartwarming message and
I do completely appreciate you
and your warm message.
Everything has its own time
and certainly, yours is about
to come.
Blessings.
Eizabeth
Thank you very much Elizabeth for the compliment about my name. Yes, my name is a Moroccan arabic name. I am very pleased that you like it.
Have a blessed day and best wishes.
i LOVE THE ILLUSTRATION THAT THE BAMBOO PLANT GIVES! THANK YOU FOR SHARING .
I first heard about bamboo while teaching in prison. I heard it was very slow growing for the first 6 years, then took off like a bullet.
I did not recall (if I ever heard) that it reached 90 feet the 7th year..
Great illustration and inspiration, both this article as well as its author. We all appreciate you, Elizabeth!
Shirley
Oh, you're here, Shirley.
You must be receiving my vibrations
as every day I think about you and
Diane and pray for both of you and
now you are here.
Thanks be to God.
I'm so glad to see you and grateful.
Oh, thank you, my dear, for being here.
You are most welcome and you are just
as sweet and so kind as ever.
Do take great care of yourself and please
do give my love to Diane.
Much love to you, Shirley.
Elizabeth
Thank you Elizabeth.
Yes, I am here briefly. I had to pick up a refurbished computer. Miy old one has a fan that is NOT functioning. Replacing the tool was the best option; so I now have to learn a new system. Hope my transfer goes smoothly..
Diane and I are still paddling upstream, but the going is more smooth for me as I have learned most of my job efficiently.
Diane is making some changes that I think will help her in time to feel better. She may be getting better rest. Thank you for your ongoing prayers. I will have to tell Diane abojut you!
You take care,
Shirley
Oh, thank you, my dear Shirley,
Everything is working in its time.
Yes, let go of worn-out things
and worn-out situations and
welcome to the new beginning.
Do take great care of yourself.
Much love.
Elizabeth
Ha ha. I was just thinking about using the bamboo analogy myself for a blog. You bet me to it. Can’t think of anyone nicer though to beat me to the punch. Great post.
Well, my dear Stephen,
you can still do it you know.
Sorry about that and I'm sure
yours will be so inspiring and
motivating too.
God for it. Thank you so much
for your kindness.
Blessings.

Excellent post Elizabeth.
Bamboo is amazing, strong as steel, long-lasting, beautiful building material according to a reference book I liked to look at in the Kealakekua Library in Kona, Hawaii.
In some countries, the book said the people feel shame about the strength of the house is in the bamboo. They wanted more modern building materials. They feel shame instead of a sense of uniqueness, and a tie to something readily available, a national sense of pride, And Just Get Over It!
The book was full of pictures of buildings made of bamboo, lasting through time humidity, very sound, unique to the situation, beautiful.
Dreams need tending more than plants, I believe, because all of your dreams are younique.
Dreams are not low hanging fruit!
In fact, they may be on the highest branch on the tallest tree.
If you accidentally drop them, they might die.
Many variables come into play with dreams.
.
As you move toward a rainbow, the rainbow moves.
As you diligently move toward your dream,
the more stable it gets.
Thank you, Dearest Elizabeth, another lovely reminder of how things work when we work them.
Yes, my dear Auntie,
We do have still a lot of houses and
furniture made of bamboo as they
are intergenerational, stronger, can
stand the test of time and do not rot.
That is why our dreams should be
more like the bamboo as well with
all the traits above.
Success in life and in all our endeavors
do not come to us. We have to go to them.
And if we are not willing to do that we can't
have the fruits that we desired.
As always, your precious words of wisdom
make me dance and sing. :-)
Love you much.
Elizabeth
Only Iland girls would "get" the also no rust Bamboo Boogie Fling Thing!
LOVE you forever and ever, as a good Auntie should.
Hahaha! I can boogie dance with
your words, my dear Auntie...lol
Love you, love you more.
Muuuaaahhh!
Elizabeth
