Meditation - Life Is So Beautiful!
Hello, my dear WA Family, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, or good night from wherever part of this wonderful world you came from.
Here is another one of my daily short meditations by Anne Wilson Schaef, Ph.D.
Thank you so much, and the topic is
Beauty
Happily, may I walk,
May it be beautiful before me.
May it be beautiful behind me.
May it be beautiful below me.
May it be beautiful above me.
May it be beautiful all around me.
In beauty, it is finished.
- Navajo prayer -
If one reads this prayer very slowly, one feels its immensely profound simplicity. Imagine ourselves surrounded by beauty!
When we think of being surrounded by beauty, we think of some island paradise or Shangri-la.
Yet when we read this poem slowly, we begin to realize we are surrounded by beauty! We see that this prayer is not only a request. It is simultaneously, a statement of fact.
My life does have elements of beauty before, behind, below, and above me. I am surrounded by beauty.
"WHEW! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!"

Many thoughts come to mind when I read this prayer. I have found that by slowing down and looking at what has been GIVEN to each of us, we have no other choice than to be thankful for such wonders and to appreciate them for what they are. A GIFT FOR EACH OF US TO APPRECIATE AND THE GOODNESS THEY REPRESENT.
