Being Busy Is'nt Always Productive

When I first started with Wealthy Affiliate, I tried to get in and get busy doing everything as fast as possible. It didn't take long before I started to feel like the picture above (sinking) I thought I was in a race, but against who? My enjoyment dissipated quickly. I had to ask myself what was my big hurry to which myself answered "to get to the money" I realized that I needed to ask myself better questions like "even if the money starts rolling in, will I really enjoy continuing to do all this to keep the money rolling in?"

We all seem to be just too busy. We are doing more and more but living less and less fulfilling lives. Being busy and focusing our actions to create our results is actually limiting them to just what we can do because we can only do so much. This equals no joy in our lives whatsoever which eventually leads to things like depression, resentment towards others, and discontent towards those nearest to us that we take our frustrations out on which equals arguments, fights, marriage breakups, etc.

All of this creates way too much overwhelm and pressure to perform. You end up getting caught up into doing something you hate thus, the journey becomes a burden. The journey is supposed to be the most enjoyable part for instance: if you have ever Rode bike down a hill, was the most fun part when you finally got to the bottom of the hill (the destination) or during the time you were coasting effortlessly down the hill? (the journey)

My point is that we have to consciously stop being busy and take a more relaxed approach. Learn to enjoy the journey more and you will get way more satisfaction out of the work you put in and instead of just being busy, you will become productive if you remain present and keep at least 95% of your focus on the task at hand and 5% back to watch what you are doing and ask yourself if there is a better way that I can make this work easier for me? Eventually it will happen in a way that not only feels good to you but also gives you the results you are looking for. Enjoy the ride!

My friend you spoke some intensified words here. As I used to tell my mother "I heard what you said I will have to think about it." I have to think about what you said, your thought process just rocked me for a moment (for the good).

I do agree when you are new here you try to go all out and accomplish your goals all in one day. We here how people have gone thought the whole Get Started Training in a about 2 weeks time. That is a recipe for what I call a crash and burn phrase. You have tried to memorized all this information in record time. Even Kyle said it took him 10 years to get a firm hold on this business and even he is still learning.

I was beginning to feel like I am falling at this because of my ranking here at WA and not being able to make a profit off of my content (depressing). Your words have reaffirmed to me that it is ok and success does not come overnight, it takes time, patients and consistency to reach the goal (enjoy the journey).

Remember how we learned how to walk by falling several times? Nothing has changed, failing is still the path to success. I choose to call it learning. By embracing my failures and taking time to absorb and appreciate the process, I am actually moving faster with less effort and more enjoyment. "Just Go!" Don't Stop.

Amazing
