Google's Spam Update Finished Rolling Out
So, the latest Spam Update ended on March 20, after taking just over 14 days.
As you probably know, there were two updates released at the same time.
The Spam Update is unlikely to have affected many of you, as it focused on scaled content abuse, expired domain abuse, and site reputation abuse.
In other words, adding thousands of posts in a short space of time, or buying expired domains, and using a different niche on them, or paying to add content on high-authority, but irrelevant websites.
If you have been found in breach of any of these, you should see a manual penalty in your Google Search Console.
But the majority of us are not out of the woods yet, as the Core Update is likely to continue for a further two weeks.
If you have been hit by this, you won't see a manual penalty, just a drop in rankings and traffic.
Thanks for reading.

Hi, Diane!
Google has said that after this round of updates is completed, it will post a "feedback forum" to see what site owners think of the outcome. That should make for quite amusing reading! Lol ๐

Yes I have been following the rollout with a combination of shock and awwww
Any post that gets through has been on the first or second page. I even managed to get a click. But I have been averaging 1-2 impressions a day, down from 100-150 before the HCU.
I have no idea how to respond. So I just keep writing, The only thing I am posting are the few posts that got deindexed. And yes they are few. And they appear to be happening randomly. Anything else I am just scheduling for the future after things bounce back. Or not.
